I'll be there for work (Millenium Park area) three nights - Here's what I am thinking and would appreciate recommendations for each. Thanks!
1. Somewhat high end/nouveau riche but good value for the buck
2. Classic Chicago Steakhouse
3. Bar with Decent Bar food, Pizza or Deli

Other recommendations would be welcomed too! Thanks

Reza on North Clark three or four miles north of Wrigley Field

Incredible Mediterranean food. Never had a bad meal there

I enjoyed Gibson's Steakhouse and Rosebud - great Italian/Pizza place. Both are in Downtown Chicago, so getting there is easy. I think Rosebud is on Dearborn by the River.

Giordano's for Pizza. There's one about a block north of Millenium Park.

Decent beer selection (reasonably priced pitchers), and pizza that will put a hurting on you.

You CAN call ahead on the pizza.... it takes about 45 minutes to bake.

Dude, get an Italian Combo from Portillo's(several locations) You can get a good steak in a lot of cities, but that's a great sandwich. They still fry fench fries in Beef Tallow. Great Stuff, and you can use the difference to put a down payment on your next share of Berkshire Hathaway

It doesn't get any better than this sandwich. Fries are to die for , too.

Any restaurant in Chicago is good. The bad ones have all gone broke. Got to try a Chicago style hot dog and an Italian beef sammich while you're there.

Another vote for Cafe Spiaggia - it is an awesome "bang for the buck" experience. Very, very high quality.

On the other end of the spectrum, try to hit Cafecito (it's near Millenium Park, a few blocks from the Art Institute). Unbelievably good Cuban sandwiches, etc. for less than $6 - I wish I would have went twice.

Portillo's is also a must for a hotdog & Italian beef.

Enjoy the hell out of Chicago - I know I did.

Awesome. Communal dining, so if you want a more "intimate" experience, this may not be it. If you want a more fun experience, it can be great. If you are visiting, and go here, tell the people next you to you you are visiting and they'll probably buy you something.

The most popular restaurant in the city right now. Good luck getting in. But if you have a few hours to blow you could probably get a table.

Haven't been there, but I've been to both of Kahan's other spots (Avec and Publican) and if they represent it at all, it's totally top notch.

Haven't been here either, but it's on the list.
