Thanks to all the great contributions. We did a lot of research on the drive up there.

We ate at Shanghai Terrace in the Peninsula hotel for one of our dinners and Joe's Prime Steak and Stone Crab for another dinner.

Shanghai Terrace was absolutely phenomenal. Rated the number 1 Chinese restaurant in Chicago. Obviously I don't have anything else to compare it to, but it was very good. We had several items from the dim sum menu and a regular entrée.

Joe's was awesome as well. The food was great and the service was even better. We had Ahi Tuna and an order of crab cakes for appetizers. I had the grilled fisherman's platter with Halibut, Shrimp, Scallops and Calamari. All grilled. My wife had 2-5 ounce Lobster Tails. All of the items we ordered were delicious.

We ate in Greektown for a lunch. We went to Greek Islands. It was decent Greek. Had Saganaki for an appetizer and I had a gyros plate while my wife had pastichio and gyros.

We went to Eataly for a lunch. Actually we went to Italy about 4 times. Lunch, gelato and shopping. This place is freaking awesome.

Also went to Pizzeria Uno. We both liked their pizza.

Awesome trip.

Was also going to recommend Goose Island brewpub. Not bad grub, but they feature excellent beer on tap which is unavailable in bottles. Last time I was there they had multiple stouts to choose from.

We went to both ends of the day-night doubleheader at Wrigley on Saturday and went here between games. I love Goose Island beer. I drink 312 all the time here. We went and grabbed a burger and a brew between games. Place was PACKED...

Glad you enjoyed your visit.

Here's a glimpse of what you could/should have gotten at Greek Islands:

P.S. Linked post not written by me.

P.P.S. Next time try Chinatown. Shanghai Terrace is the fanciest restaurant in Chicago serving food that can be called Chinese, and it certainly is damned good. But you could have spent one-fifth as much at Lao Sze Chuan or "Little" Three Happiness and gotten better.

You are way too late with that advice. He's clearly up for the troll of the year award, and he wasn't even here (thankfully) until late 1Q.

What is the best place to get pho or good noodle soup near Wrigley? I've been craving pho since I got here, all I can find within walking distance is Thai restaurants

Get on the El Red Line northbound at Addison; exit at Argyle.

Two blocks in each direction contain more Vietnamese restaurants than can be found in the entire New Orleans metro area.

Are they better than Nola? I won't say that. But the best are plenty good. My two favorites are Pho Xe Tang (aka Tank Noodle) and Pho 777.

P.S. Although if you go to Argyle Street, screw the Vietnamese - you can get that in New Orleans. Instead go to Sun Wah and find out what Cantonese food really tastes like.
