Is the sports bar with boardroom chairs still open by Minute Maid?

Downtown can be hit or miss. Off the top of my head I would suggest:
- the conservatory (beer garden with several food vendors)
- Mkt Bar / Phoenicia (Mediterranean)
- Ninfas on Navigation (Mexican)
- Jinya Ramen Bar (midtown...but close)
- Hearsay (gastropub, not dirt cheap, but affordable)

Define cheap. Taco Bell cheap or Applebee's cheap?
I'd say you could spend less than $15 per at Ninfa's on Navigation if you went in with a tight budget and no alcohol but the tip would probably get you over that. It's probably less than a mile from you and one of, if not, the place that started the entire Tex-Mex genre.

While good, they are anything but cheap. Last time I went it was something like $30 for a 1/2 order of fajitas. I can't remember exactly the price but I do remember thinking it was absurd for what it was...

If you want cheap, but good, and have a vehicle, drive to West Alabama Icehouse.
Park. Go to the taco truck across the street from the icehouse. Take food, go to the bar, order a good beer, and profit.

Jackson Street BBQ is pretty good too. Right across the street from Minute Maid.
