I was coming to suggest EAT! The fact that it's BYOB really makes it affordable.

In addition to the other suggestions Green Goddess would fit the bill, though I haven't been since one of the chefs left to open his new restaurant.

I like Green Goddess, but I always leave hungry.

Cheap: Coop's on Decatur
Mid- range: Three Muses, Adolpho's (both on Frenchman); Grapevine (on Orleans, behind the Cathedral).

We went to soubou last weekend for lunch.
It was a very pleasant experience. Small portions, but the food was great.
