Put this in the "surprised it lasted so long" category.

Yeah apparently the building has already been sold. I'm hoping for a nice bar downstairs to pair the restaurant upstairs. Something similar to Willa Jean would be great.

Also, Coquette moving down the street into a bigger location wound be nice if Stoltzfus and Essig want to scale up.

Before they even opened I heard they would be called Charcoal's and not cook with charcoal, because that's the dog name. Have been confused until this day as to just why in the hell you would do that.

That place has been losing money since it opened. Deep pockets is the only thing that kept it open

frick that place. I've been 3 times and the wait and service was pathetic. Last time it was 4 of us and we waited 45 minutes for our burgers.

That is a really great space. I hope they put something interesting and mid price ranged there. This city is full of poboy joints and 5 star priced restaurants. The last thing this city needs is another brunch or burger joint.

I went once and enjoyed the burger I had. Sat out on the balcony and thought it was a decent atmosphere. I saw they served breakfast, so when I went to try that, I was informed that only the bottom is open for breakfast. Half of the reason we were going was that it was a nice day and we wanted to eat on the balcony. We left and ate somewhere else. Seemed dumb to me to limit seating to a single bar downstairs.

I'm going to miss the Burger Hunter commercials on the radio.

I'll never understand why a restaurant in New Orleans named Charcoal's Gourmet Burger Bar, that doesn't cook their burgers with charcoal, would serve breakfast and use a guy with an Australian accent for marketing.

I'm stunned to see that it failed.

Never heard those commercials.

Speaking of Coquette, I know Kristen Essig is opening something new in the Garden District. Wonder if this is the spot!
