That's a solid list that you'll enjoy. I would probably go to a place like GW Fins instead of Mr B's but Mr B's isn't at all a slouch. Toups Meatery and Revolution probably fit here too...

I highly recommend Tana at Treo(shout out to a possible future Iron Chef). Happy Hour is pretty much perfect...

For brunch, do you want a buffet like Court of Two Sisters or to order off the menu? COTS is solid for a buffet but it won't blow you away. I have an inherent aversion to buffets in general so take any advice from me on that subject with a grain of salt. I enjoy Café Amelie every time I go but there's lots of options in this genre...

Court of Two Sisters is crap. Great building but that's about it.

My favorite brunch spot is Patois.

Solid list, but holy moly that's a lot of food each day. I could never do brunch and then an afternoon "snack" and then what I assume will be a multi-course dinner at Commander's. I wouldn't want to ruin my appetite before something like Commander's.

While I think Atchafalaya is one of the best brunches in town, I agree with Gris that I wouldn't do two brunches. I'd do Peche for lunch, skip the whole afternoon snack deal, and arrive at Commander's ready to truly eat.

Two sisters is meh to me. I'm very picky though so maybe you'd like it more. We went during the summer and the only available seating was outdoors. It was hot as balls. I was dripping sweat on my food.

Y'all must be big eaters because I can't do 3 meals like that in one day! I skip breakfast and we do two meals a day.

You are right. Breakfast on Saturday might be too much. I think I was thinking of having an early brunch around 11am and then skipping lunch, but then I got carried away with this "snack" idea.

Don't bother with Manale's. It's not what it used to be. I went back for nostalgic reasons several years ago and the shrimp were swimming in barely seasoned oil.

I had a feeling this was the case. I seem to remember my granddad telling me this a while ago. That's a shame. I have good memories of that sandwich.

I would change Atchafalaya for Peche, period

I went to Peche a couple of years ago and while I liked it, I have to honestly say I think I might have missed something when I went there (I know this is blasphemy around here). The oysters were the highlight for me. I'm torn about it, but perhaps I should go again.

I feel ya. I definitely was getting carried away with this "snack" idea.

These are just random places to throw out for Saturday lunch, but I have had fantastic lunches at Coquette, Patois, and Sylvain. All three do a great lunch. They do very good brunch too, but I'm unsure which run it on Saturdays.

How is Broussard's in the FQ for Sunday Brunch? How is it for dinner?

If you didn't care for it, then don't go. I didn't realize you'd been there. I'm a fan, though.

I haven't been to Broussard's, so can't help you there. As a matter of fact, I can't remember it being discussed here in a very long time, if ever, really.

Same with Gris. I've never seen it mentioned here, so I definitely wouldn't choose it over the good recommendations you've already gotten.

Make sure you check the dress codes at some of these places and let your guests know beforehand.

I know- someone mentioned it a thread once but they didn't elaborate on it.

Court of Two Sisters is a crummy tourist trap. Ask anyone who's ever worked there.

If I was on my phone, I'd upvote twice. Worked there. It sucks. They exist because concierges send tourists there. Go to either Brennans, Muriels, Rib room, Mr. B's, basically anywhere else.

I mentioned it upthread. I've only been once, last Mother's Day, but I enjoyed it. It had what I was looking for in a New Orleans Sunday Brunch; good food, white tablecloths, bottomless Mimosas, and a wandering jazz trio. My Mom loved it so I was happy.

Ive eaten at Manale's 3 times this year already and have eaten there for years, it's literally the same thing it's been forever. Not that it would be a place I would go to for a NOLA food tour, but if you like it, go for it.

I think Gris Gris has said the same thing about the BBQ shrimp for like 5 years now. Obviously had a bad experience and never returned, no telling how many people she's turned away from the place on here

Not if they wanted oysters rock which are great there.

Did you have the bbq shrimp? Next time you have those, take a pic. Maybe I got the bottom of the oil barrel or something, but mine were in a bowl of oil with some flecks of cracked pepper and not much else. Honestly, I couldn't understand it because I remembered them to be very flavorful and so did the other person who ordered them.

Ive been two times this year and did a family style serving both times. Had a few shrimp each time and they were good, dish was wiped clean at the end.

I would never go to Manale's and not get a taste of the BBQ shrimp, combination pan roast (oysters, shrimp and crabmeat chopped in a blend of shallots and parsley seasoning) and the shrimp diavolo. I respect your opinion but ive never had consistency issues with those go tos

Looks like it is still that way.

They must use oil or if they use butter, they don't add it one pat at a time on low heat so it incorporates into the other ingredients.
