The place is on Coursey a little further down Chime's East. Went there last night for my tailgating group meeting. Place was awesome; greatest prices on craft beer around.

Only have 8 on tap; but the courtyard has a New Orleans type feel. Really chill place and cool dive bar.

Anyone else been there?

Went a few weeks ago... they were definitely still working out all the kinks.

Might go back at some point if they end up surviving.

When I went there was a bunch of old people and it was super bright in there. All of the lights were on, it felt like drinking in a library.

The bartender / manager was really bad. He seemed like a nice guy but the old fashioned I saw him make looked like it was struggling. A small group of people walked in and ordered 5 Vegasbombs and he had no idea what that was. After they told him, he only made enough for 3, so he poured some more for the two other shots. They were completely different color from the first 3.

The prices for their 16 oz pints were no better than Chimes East 20 oz pints.

Is that where the old Happy's was? Did they change much about it?

Yeah they pulled all the booths out, painted the walls clinic white, ripped out all of the beer taps, and added a bunch of plants, christmas lights and lattice work outside.

Here's their stellar tap list:

-40 Arpent Duckweed IPA
-Ace Apple Cider
-Gnarly Barley Korova
-Great Raft Southern Drawl
-New Belgium Slow Ride IPA
-Parish Canebrake
-Shiner Birthday Beer Chocolate Stout
-Shiner Oktoberfest
-SweetWater 420

I have never been there, but this list doesn't inspire me to drive past Chimes East to go there.

List isn't too bad for eight taps. I'd trade out the Shiners for something local/seasonal.

Not even close....Chimes East or Corporate Brew and Draft easily beat them

They have a decent selection of bottles/cans. I have been a couple times... Drink a couple double hop risings for $2.50 a can and take over the juke box for a lil while. Have a weird crowd though.
The red head isn't a bad bartender. But, yeh the place doesn't feel like a "dive"

I just don't see why you would go to this bar for craft draft beer. When Chimes East is up the road.

The Chimes East has been on a decline with their service for a while.

I didn't even know the place was there until yesterday.

It was a cool experience with a good vibe. I thought the prices were very reasonable; and that's why I posted about it. The girl was saying there was live music there this Saturday; and was wondering if anyone else had been there.

Sometimes quantity isn't quality, ya know?

after looking at the beermenus site, their prices are very reasonable. i guess i just wouldnt go there seeking out craft beer. probably just a good place to chill and get a beer

this is a good way to alienate anyone that might be looking to go and drink craft beer. i guess i just have different music tastes but i cant remember one time i have been at a place with live music in BR (other than a concert or somewhere i intentionally went to see the music) and thought the music was good. most of the time its a signal to drink the beer in my hand and head to the next place.

Yes. Went there yesterday for my tailgating meeting. I had a good time. But the people trolling here that work at the Chimes will tell you how bad it is.

Funny, a guy had a Chimes work shirt on, and he was drinking there!

All in all, I had a good time. It was good experience; and that is all that matters
