I have been a few times and had a couple of good experiences, but it just didn't seem to live up to expectations.

I have heard good things about the food. I've heard that the brewery's are cool as well. Making my first trip in April for the marathon. After the run I plan on eating a lot of unhealthy food and drinking liking a fish. Any suggestions?

The chowder at Union Oyster House was the bet I had, and it has a nice raw bar for clams and oysters.

Neptune is the best oysters and the hot lobster roll is amazing.

Island Creek is also top notch for oyster and clams.

Union was a very distant competitor to these IMO

I didn't have any memorable meals there, but I'm sure there are good spots. The oysters were expensive as shite.

Union would make up for any shortcomings in food on atmosphere and crap on the walls, if it had any shortcomings, IMO

The Missus and I plan on making our first anniversary trip up there in November. Want to go to the Union Oyster House, figure they will have Heady Topper up there by then. Isn't there a great pizza place there? Like Sinatra and Clinton ate there good.

Neptune
Mama Maria
North by northeast in Cambridge

All three were outstanding. I don't think their lineup is deep, but they have some great places.

Used to eat chicken lobsters at a place called Joseph's Aquarium.

Legal Seafood has good clam chowder.

Fast food sales in Faneuil Hall if you want a sandwich. Saw a driver loading/tieing a 12 foot christmas tree to the top of a stertch limo there one night.

Other than that, I got nothing.

Dali in Cambridge is in my top 5 of all time. And that was even going with an awkward roommate that I really didn't like.
