Has anyone here ever read the books by Anthony Bourdain? Love his shows and can only imagine his books are excellent. Looking for opinions of which ones I should look into

Yes! As I read the words I could hear his voice speaking them. He does not hold back.
I enjoyed them.
I enjoyed them.

Start with Kitchen Confidential, then Medium Raw. Great writer

Medium Raw is an amazing book.

I like his Les Halles Cookbook too. It is written in his smart-assed tone, which is different for a cookbook.

Read Kitchen Confidential years back. Good read. As I recall cocaine mentioned several times.

I have read Kitchen Confidential and Medium Raw. I have not read his fiction book, Bone in the Throat.

Kitchen Confidential is pretty good. It'll leave you wondering how he's lived as long as he has.

This is a thread for books and articles about food
Bourdain shows up, for his own books as well as his forward for the book by Marilyn Hagerty, North Dakota food critic whose (in)famous review of Olive Garden made her an internet celebrity, and even got her a book deal (the thread has a link to Bourdain's forward)
Also check out the classic essay on how fast food chains killed off the local joints of Vicksburg

A Cook's Tour is a fantastic summer read.

Kitchen Confidential is a great read. It makes you realize that even if you are a great cook at home, you will not want to open a restaurant.

Are either of those pretentious and socially awkward?

No, but I'd venture to say that both are significantly funnier than you.
