Any suggestions?
I've found some people mentioning Nate's but I also read they dump the seasoning on top of them. and
I'm in town on business the next few days and would love to find some legit bugs.

Nates is actually pretty good but here are some others
Shuck n jive
Dodies
Aw Shucks
The Boiling Crab
Alligator Cafe- authentic NOLA guy, great food
Chains
Razzoos
Rockfish
Pappadeaux
Google some of those and see which is closest. dont expect any good deals under $5 a lb, if you do find them let us know

All you can eat crawfish $14.99 at draft picks next to zouk downtown last night

I'm staying at the Westin off LBJ and 75.
Don't really care about the price at this point, just want some good bugs boiled in seasoning, not boiled in water and sprinkled with fire on top

Friend has a food truck, Cajun Tailgators. They do crawfish and seem to be doing very well.

Dodie's is legit
Im at the "original" one on greenville
Crawfish are perfectly seasoned and you get celery, onion, garlic pods, potatoes and corn.
This place is the real deal, will prob keep sucking down Abita Ambers and end up eating more in a little bit
Fyi kinda steep at 14.99 for 2lbs but with all the fixin's i think its worth every penny. Not to mention I've been living in Oregon the last 3 yrs

Family from New Orleans owns Dodie's. Used to have a lot of LSU stuff on the walls. But last time I was there they had taken a lot of it down.

Went about seven years ago and they were the worst crawfish I had ever tasted. We left extremely disappointed. Glad they're getting them right.

Went to aw shucks on Tuesday. They were steamed but better than shuck and jive (which were terrible). Aw shucks was charging $7.99 a lb though, which is ridiculous!

Is Shuck and Jive the place at 75 and Mockingbird? If so, I never bothered trying it due to hearing nothing but negatives.
Cajun Crawfish Co used to sell them every Saturday in a Tom Thumb parking lot. Don't know if they're still doing that but they were great.

Its at Greenville and Lovers....or Southwestern close to 75. It borders on nasty. I'm not sure how they stay open.

Meant Lovers not Mockingbird, moved away about three years ago. That's the place I was thinking of though. Used to pass it all the time going to Central Market (a place I really wish New Orleans had).
Heard it was nasty, never wandered in. Glad I was right not to.

Dodies on Greenville is legit. All LSU bar and good food. Their cole slaw is the shite. It's vinegar based
Abita on draft and boiled crawfish. All the others are sold off. Greenville is the original run by the MaGinness family from NOLA
I'm hungry

Im thinking of going back tomorrow night they were that good.
This was the Dodies that I guess they originally started. Apparently the son opened the other one further down Greenville that is more bar oriented to students and such. The bartender was cool and she said all the local prefer the older location much more. I also had a dozen raw oysters that were really good too. Overheard some other folks talking about how they like the vinegar based cole slaw.

I haven't tried Dodie's crawfish but I'm not a fan of their other dishes. I've been a few times and I'm just not impressed. I'll admit that the original location is definitely better than any of the others. How much was the crawfish there? I may give that a try since it's down the road.
I had a few friends go to Draft Picks. They said they were good for $15 all you can eat.
Boiling Crab is pretty good but out there. It's not traditional LA seasoning but it's pretty good. It was $6.99/lb.

I haven't been there since they moved to Lakewood? I need to go check them out. I really liked their food.
