What is the "correct" way to eat a burger? Do you slice it in half or eat it whole? Please discuss

Any way you slice it (hehe), that first burger looks turrible. Too much bread on the top of the bun and a thin little soaking wet piece of mush for a bottom bun. And what is that, kale? Smdh

With your mouth.
Unless you want to blend it up and inject it up your arse. You do you, man.

This is not about the toppings, although that can figure into the decision of whether to slice or not. I agree that the amount of bread and the kale is stomach turning, but I personally prefer the slice to not. Imagine the amount of kale that would end up on your lap if you tried to eat that thing whole.

Would you insert it into your arse whole or bisected? I prefer bisected.

Depends on the size of the burger, if it is a large one I'm cutting it in half

Is it unacceptable to eat a burger with just the patty and the bread? No toppings. Not even cheese.

That's my general theorem as well, but I also think the toppings (both the amount and the slipperiness of them) factors into it. I mean, a smaller burger with grilled onions, ketchup, mayo, pickles, melted cheese, bacon, and grilled mushrooms and I'm going to slice that bitch before wearing it.

Dammit, I haven't eaten today and now I really want a good burger. Guess I shouldn't have went to the food board.

If it has legitimate toppings, cut in half gives you the proper ratio of condiments with each bite. When eaten whole, they tend to make their way to the back of the burger if not out onto your plate/lap. If it's a plain burger with little to no topping then either is correct.

Also depends where you are eating it. If I'm at home I just grab it and go after it. If I'm at some decent place, I cut it. If I'm at a place sitting outside and drinking beer, I'll just eat it without slicing it. The fries can be used to mop up anything that falls out.

If it's a whole burger I tend to eat around it so my last few bites are the middle of the patty.

The correct way to eat a burger is whole, outer edge first.
