Recently stopped at Rabideaux's Sausage in Iowa. It was damn good.

On its own, the Louisiana gas station sausage wins that battle nine times out of ten. But if you’re talking king cake, a Connecuh king cake beats a boudin king cake every time. The only place I am aware that sells the Connecuh king cake is Sally’s Piece A Cake in western Mobile. It is north of I-10 by a quarter mile. Forgive the poor grammar in the bakery’s name. It is the best savory king cake available. You heard it here first.

the best sausage is just north of 10. teet's in ville platte is the best around. t-boys is pretty damn good too.

Charlie's in Mamou is good (just don't speed), my favorite is Guillory's in Pine Prairie if you like a real smoked sausage. Don't speed in Pine Prairie either.

Bergeron's
Good mass produced sausage
Everthing else
Having said that, boil your conecuh in a mix of beer, hot sauce, and cane syrup before a quick toss on the grill.

Conecuh is ok on the grill. It has a very strong flavor. It’s overpowering in as gumbo or jambalaya. If you are not in Louisiana, I highly suggest ordering from Teets. They ship.

Teets isn't as good as it used to be. The last few times I've bought it, the casing was like shoe leather.

Rod's is in my Christmas gumbo every year. Fantastic smoke flavor. FWIW, I have some Rabideaux's in my fridge right now. It's good, but not Rod's good.
