Just dump it in the chest or place in a foil pan with foil?

I personally wouldn’t just dump it in the chest

When i was cooking in 20 for different places i just did foil pans topped with foil.

They were still violently hot after an hour drive.

No need for ice chest. Pack in pans cover in heavy foil and roll. Can wrap in an old towel or blanket if really concerned

If you can get those pans with the nice locking foil lids it would be great. Also, understand it is going to cook a touch in the pans if you keep it really hot, so pulling the pasta just a touch wet and al dente may keep you in good shape.

Or cook as you normally would and place in pans, let cool, then just warm in oven of where you are going? Either way, pack lots of chopped green onions for folks to put over the top. I love green onions and layas.

Foil pans. Cover it. Transport in an ice chest.

Crazy how long things stay warm in an ice chest. I put 2 pork butts in a chest around 9am and didnt shred until 4pm. They were still hot.

Covered foil pan wrapped in a beach towel has worked for me.

If you're using foil pans, it's a good practice to wrap the entire pan in platic wrap first before covering with the foil lid.

The plastic wrap gives you an extra layer of protection from spills and creates a moisture barrier to keep it from druing out.

The questions I see on this board. Good grief. Cognitive thought is a thing of the past.

Or you can put it in an ice chest instead of using a blanket…

A little late to the thread but if you take a few bricks (I wrap in foil to keep it sanitary) and put in the oven at 300 for about 30 minutes, wrap in towel, and place in bottom of cooler you got yourself a hotbox. I lay another towel on top and bottom to keep it from touching cooler or food directly. Just place food in foil pans and leave on top of bricks. If you are worried about melting the cooler you can keep the oven at 180-200 degrees and it'll still be better than an empty cooler.

At first I thought this was a dumb question, but then when I thought about it it makes sense. Togo boxes are styrofoam.

You would have to make sure that it’s EPS styrofoam (the hard kind like they use for shipping food in).
