Go!

We're staying at the new campground in the state park, The Outpost, and we have to walk a mile to the car so something we can dress casually.

I always liked Wolf Bay Lodge. Haven't been down that way in years, though.

I ate at Cobalt Friday night. Place was supremely mediocre, especially considering the wait and the prices. Cosmo's is its little sister and is slightly better, but they still don't know how to season food very well.

Always best to cook when in GS or OB.

Trust me, Mikee's in Gulf Shores. Lived there for several summers. The atmosphere is horrible but the food and drink is superb. Get an Ikester to drink.

Tin Top is my favorite place down there. It's a little off the beaten path but definitely worth it IMO. It's not exclusively seafood and will have a little bit if everything for everybody.

Totally agree, goes for destin as well.

All of the seafood places are a complete cluster frick to eat at with the wait and crowds. Just goto a market, get some nice looking fresh stuff and cook it up at your condo, sit outside and eat next to the water.

Meh, I don't always want to cook when on vacation. Do enough of that at home. Generally we do breakfast and lunch at the condo and want to eat out for dinner a few nights while on vacation.

If you choose good places and go at the right times, it can work in the beach towns.
