Where are y'all eating?

I'm graduating in May as well. I should convince my parents to come to New Orleans instead of us doing dinner here.

Mike, confused on your post. Can you elaborate?

So many variables. Do they like fancy dining? Or are they the people who will complain if there are two waiters and a bread course as "putting on airs"?
Given the age range and likelihood that no one can agree on what they want to eat, Id suggest a place like Boucherie, Cochon, Toups Meatery, or High Hat.
Unless everyone in the group are seasoned dining vets going somewhere too fancy is going to create more problems. Go a tad casual, have a big table, pass the wine, and enjoy a celebration.

I suppose I just found the mention of Ruffinos in response to a request for authentic Louisiana food for out of town guests a bit odd.

Price range and what you are able to ascertain as what might be outside of their box of being something they would try should be settled first before setting you eyes on the where to go to location.

Latil's Landing (Houma's House) in Burnside
I'd go with this. Only 20 minutes or so from campus and is a distinctly southern experience with great food. The plantation and grounds are beautiful...you can get a tour, or walk around yourself and then stop by the Turtle Bar for drinks. Last time I went the bartender was very conversational, showed us the kitchen in the new addition to the Turtle Bar, showed us the wine cellars, and gave us the the run-down on some of the most expensive alcohol in the world that they serve there. Pretty cool stuff.
