Going for the KC/Indy game October 6th. I have been trying to go to one game a year for the past couple of years. I hit up Joe's two years ago and County Road Icehouse this past year because Jack Stack had a 2 hour wait. So basically had Joe's two years in a row.

This year I'll actually have time to hit up something on Saturday night, Sunday during the day, and Monday before I leave.

I was still thinking about hitting up Jack Stack for an early lunch Sunday simply because I figure it has to be good if all locations has a two hour wait last year.

The trio plate at Jack Stack is still the best plate of BBQ I can say Ive ever had. Burnt Ends, Prime Rib, and Ribs. With 2 sides and local bourbon.

Gates is also very good BBQ, but it can get a little crazy up in there.

Q39 has the best chicken wings I have ever had in my life. They are even listed on the menu as Best Wings on the Planet.

Q39

+1

I was in KC a couple months ago and Q39 was the best BBQ I had followed by Joe's and then Jack Stack.

Went to Jack Stack years ago and loved it. Went to Q39 last time and it wasn't quite as good, but it wss to-go so might not be apples to apples.

Skip out on Arthur Bryant.

Jack Stack's rib sampler is a fine plate.

Joe's or Arthur Bryant's for BBQ.

Joe's is in a gas station.

I grew up in KC and did BArBQ contests in the 90s. Never have been a fan of Joes,
Seems dumbed down. Aurthur Bryant's is the real KC deal but old school. I would do them and Q39 to get some of both worlds. At Bryant's, I like the beef and pork sand which combo and fries and the large Icecold bud. You can split this as it it huge. I love their original sauce.

Gates at 103rd is the best one, I like their extra hot sauce, get the short end rib plate.
Hard to beat their ribs. Be ready to order or they will pass on you.

BTW Mcgonigles is way better than Jack Stack, it's on 85 and ward Parkway. Get some of their Italian sausage to go. Awesome meat store for steaks.

JCs is also good but location is sketchy with a dump next door which kind of ruins the deal.

The only thing we would get at Jacks is chicken and beans.

Just spent a month in KC. The original Joe's (gas station) & Q39 were my favorites. The burgers at Q39 looked amazing. Went to a place called Char, it was ok. Didn't care for Jack Stack.
