In greater Baton Rouge area?

Most likely chocolate as the "main" focal point.

For the record, I am not a fan of Gambino's or Baum's.

Any place else?

Ambrosia. I just had a strawberry cake from there for my birthday. It was excellent. Whole Foods has excellent chocolate cake as well.

Les Amis Bake Shoppe

This is where we order birthday cakes for work. The cakes are really pretty and they have a ton of flavors.

Costco. Less than 20 bucks for a half sheet cake. The frosting is decent, and they put a layers of mousse in the middle that gives it a little bit more richness than your average cake.

You may find better cakes out there, but that is the best value. I liked the taste of the cake from Costco better than the one from WF, fwiw.

Ordered from here. Very reasonably priced and can only hope the cake tastes as good as it looks.

And almost 1/2 the price of other "premium" cake places.
