I've never been, but I've heard great things about Joe Dreyfus' restaurant in Livonia...

Yeah, I've never considered Joe's to be "nice". It's definitely casual and especially at lunch.

i've traveled this hundreds of times but never stopped to eat. used to get boudin balls from billy's in krotz springs. not anymore though. they're just not the same anymore. i always wanted to try Penny's Diner in livonia but never stopped.

Try Karchners across the street from Billy's you won't be disappointed

Last time I ate a billys boudin ball I puked fwiw. Every other time they've been solid. I guess my original advice on that should be taken lightly.

Yep, decent diner food. Nothing spectacular, but it'll fill you up. I've always wanted to stop at Best Burger too, but never have.
Joe's Dreyfus used to be really good but it's changed hands a couple of times. Last time I was there the food was still good but they seemed disorganized.
I agree with the posters who mentioned Not Your Mama's.
