Honest question.

Were y’all raised on cheese pizza?

My idea of pizza was a Johnny’s Sweep the Kitchen, or a Godfather’s sausage and cheese pizza.

Nobody in North Baton Rouge ate cheese pizza unless they had to.

As a kid growing up, like a lot of kids, I didn’t like toppings, especially veggies. I preferred plain cheese. As I grew older and especially once I got into the business and eating pizza on a daily basis I began experimenting and branching out, just to have a little variety. I like pretty much anything at this point, but when I’m doing a taste test I prefer to keep it simple.

There’s really so many varieties and available toppings nowadays, I don’t know how anyone can claim a certain pizza topping preference is wrong or right. Heck, a NY cheese slice is one of the best bites of food there is.

Yeah cheese pizzas for the kids were common for me and my friends/family. I’m a 90s kid though.

I’ll get a slice every now and then for a change of pace.

A cheese pizza can be a way to judge the pizza for what it is.

I like the Paulee Gee cheese, but the pepperoni they use isn't for me.

I hunted down Ezzo pepperoni for our pizzas, it has a great taste and less grease on the pizza after cooking than some of the other brands we sampled.

NOLA square is a pretty damn good pizza.
Basil & crushed tomato is good, but add a few toppings and it’s pretty hard to beat.
