Be sure to order a freshly-made whole pizza, not just one of the pre-made slices.

I tried it. It was OK. I got one of their lunch specials. They have some type of bourbon-honey topping they add. I'd suggest asking to skip it. I didn't know they did that. It was little too sweet for me. But like most Detroit style pizza, it was heavy. I got a to-go medium Detroit and it must have weighed five pounds.

Yeah, I'll definitely ask them to skip the bourbon-honey stuff. Thanks for the head's up.

I've heard that NOLA Pizza Co. is superior to MCP but I haven't had the chance to try it yet.

That's a fact. I've had NOLA multiple times in the past few months after having MCP Uptown as my go-to because of proximity to my house. I wouldn't consider MCP New York Style either - it's a flopper, not a crisper.

Had the Pepperoni and Supreme this weekend along with Cesar Salads. Would give it a 7 out 10. Salads were really good.

I have sat back and watched from the sidelines over the past couple of days as this thread has progressed to see the outcome and the reviews. As some of you know, I am the owner of Diversion Pizza. Just to clear up a few things.

When I saw that Tigerpaw made this post, I was happy for his review but I cringed a little, I think I make a good pizza, but I don't think and nor am I trying to be the best pizza in the state. I think we put out a quality product that is a little different from a traditional, commonly encountered pizza. We made our dough in-house and purchase quality ingredients.

There has been no post by employees, but plenty by friends, many that I have met through TD over the years. All those posts are posted by friends that have eaten here and enjoyed their meal.

If you visit and like a thinner crust, get a 12" or 14" pizza, the small 9" pizzas always have more dough and tend to poof more than the larger pizzas.

I still think it is the best in the state, others may disagree and to each their own

From Billy Mays in another thread

I was able to give Diversion Pizza a try today. It was a good piiza. I'm not going to say it's the best pizza in the state. Nor do I think I will make the round trip from BR again just to have this pizza, but all the chatter had me curious, so I went. It was a very good pie. Best of luck to this business. My you thrive and prosper and open a second location in Baton Rouge some day. If that happens, it will definitley be at the top of my rotation.

Well, you convinced me I need to go back this weekend. I didn't know the small pizzas had more dough. So know I will be back over the weekend and get the large (for a thinner crust).

Are you still doing insurance work too or just a pie maker?

You do you. I don’t know anyone under 12 years old that gets cheese pizza.

I like meat and veggies on my pizza.

I assume that was you I saw yesterday when I went to pick up my pizza. Sitting at the table talking to the couple at lunch? You make a good pie buddy.

I definitely like a cheese pizza sometimes. And I'm older than 12.
