I think the ones at Acme on Perkins are pretty good, but they are light years away from Mansur's.

I don't think Mansur's are as good as Drago's.

Drago's are, the best, the original, the one.

That being said:

Literally everything else at Mansur's

Drago's.

That's pretty much why I haven't had the ones at Drago's. Not interested in anything else on the menu, really. Too many other places of more interest.

I'm a Drago's hater. I just don't like their food.

Except for the chargrilled oysters, which is one of the best, if not the best dish in the entire city.

I could eat 3 dozen. But everything else is meh.

They were U-10 Diver Scallops from Massachusetts. We have had to do this on multiple occasions during past hurricanes and the oil spill (while waiting on Blue Points from the East Coast to come in). We have plenty stock of fresh select oysters as of now though. The scallops however are a real treat when we run them.

I'll try to remember to ask if they're available next time I'm in. A plate of chargrilled scallops and oysters would be delicious.

Someone in an earlier post said Mansur's used scallops when they were out of oysters and they were very good. Wine guy was explaining what was used.

Ditto. A heads up when they are available - would get me there immediately.

I've been to the Acme on Perkin's several times within the last few months and the Chargilled oysters were excellent.

Of course, I think any chargrilled oyster is excellent as long as it's not overcooked.

Agreed Acme has the best in BR IMO, City Cafe was easily the worst I've tried.

City Cafe overcooked ours both times we went (so the oysters were microscopic), used Parmesan cheese WTF and doesn't include enough garlic butter sauce on the plate to dip the bread in.

Oceania's (the Old New Orleans Cookery) were pretty awesome.

Mansurs are pretty damn good. Especially with the lump crab added on top. Last time I was @ Stroube's I tried theirs. Hard to pick a favorite between the 2 now.
