You really think The Steakhouse in Circus Circus is the best?

I ate there for my brothers wedding and loved it, and recognized it was a step above places I usually eat.

Great casino imo

The thing is, for the basic servings at these buffets, the quality of the buffet at say, Red Rock is not too far from the quality of say, Bachannal at Caesars Palace.

Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch. I hit both of these and they were good. Just don't forget to get your discount by joining the players club. Frankly, I would hit them again over say Wicked Spoon.

Bellagio, Wynn/Encore, Aria, CP, M, and not mentioned yet, but the best if there on a Sunday..the Sterling Champagne Brunch at Bally.

Also as mentioned, if on a budget or staying at Stations properties, GVR and Red Rock are great for the price with a card, also Spice Market at PH(has Middle Eastern fare dating to it's Aladdin roots)..

Don't miss out on the Asian and Mexican fare if from La..much better than what we have here.

Certainly is one of the better ones and doesn't have a la carte pricing.

The open charcoal method of cooking steaks sets it apart.

Just disregard the dump of a casino it is located in.

Ate at the Bellagio buffet a month or two back. Be prepared to elbow a bunch of Chinese tourists to get the good stuff. It was late and only half-full, too. I can't imagine being in there when they're at capacity.

I dont think were going to rent a car so we'll probably just walk or uber wherever we want to go, which limits us mostly to the Strip. Only going to be there for 2 nights so won't be able to get to too many places. Will probably do Mon Ami Gabi, a buffet, and 1 or 2 other places. That Steakhouse sounded enticing. Thanks for the recommendations.

I would recommend the one at the Bellagio. I usually don't like buffets, especially with all of the great restaurants they have in Vegas now, but this one is very good. We were staying across the street at Caesar's Palace and had several hours between the time we had to check out of the hotel and the time we had to leave for the airport. We spent it pigging out at the Bellagio buffet. It was top notch.

Glad I am not the only one who sees that the Red Rock/GVR/Station Buffets aren't all that bad.

I mean come on, when it comes to the shite served in trays that you help yourself to(which is what compromises 90% of a buffet), how high of a quality gap can there be? Orange Chicken is Orange Chicken. Is it really going to be that much of a higher quality at a place like Wicked Spoon as opposed to Red Rock?

It's all about the special offerings.

Go to the buffet at Red Rock, then go to a top dollar buffet like at Bellagio or Wynn. I guarantee you that you will say the buffet at Bellagio/Wynn was better, but was it worth the extra $40-$50? No.

For me the biggest difference in quality is the desserts. You know you will get the best quality at the high end places, and the lower end places can be hit or miss(even at Studio B there are some items that aren't great, like the Creme Brulee).

With that being said I have never been to a really low end place like the buffet at Circus Circus/Excalibur or the cheaper downtown casinos. So when I say there aren't that big of a difference in quality of buffets I am talking about the lower-mid end range(Stations) vs. High End(5 Star Casino Hotels)

Good idea... I'd do Mon Ami Gabi for Breakfast, Circus Circus or Top of the World for dinner. If I could only choose one buffet it would be the Seafood Buffet at the Rio.

That sounds good to me. Top of the World looks like a pretty unique experience although I do like that Circus Circus is not a la carte. Either way, looks like a $200ish dinner for 2 at either place.

How far out would we need to make reservations at places like these?

If you know your dates, call now and book your reservation. Never know what big convention will be in town for Vegas.

If you go to The Steakhouse at Circus Circus, ask for waiter Michael Champeau. He's been there for nearly 30 years.

Caesar's is my favorite, I still don't think I found all the stations with food. It's almost too much variety though. Hard to enjoy!

Went to Paris but did not like that one.

I always forget to try Wynn. Need to go there next time.

I've heard good things about Hugo's Cellar at Four Queens. It's very old school and looks to be a very different vibe from CUT or Prime. It looks like the kind of place you would have visited in the 70's and they haven't updated the decor since. I would say avoid STK at The Cosmo. It seemed more like a nightclub with a mediocre steak. Andiamo's which is at The D is a good downtown option as well. It's an Italian steakhouse.

Also note that now the seafood portion of the buffet at the Rio is an add-on to the normal buffet price. And all reviews I've seen have said it's really slipped in recent years. I haven't been over to the Rio in several years though. No reason to go out of your way.

I've only done brunch buffets and it's been several years since my last Vegas trip. The Wynn is good but the one at Mandalay Bay is as good or better, especially the dessert room which is a work of art. The variety and quality of food choices was every bit as good as The Wynn. I tried to do the buffet at Bellagio once but it was Mother's Day and the line was obscene. I ate at that place by the botanical garden instead. It's great, I've eaten there several times.

The brunch buffet at MGM Grand was the worst thing ever. Don't go there.

There is a really good Emeril's restaurant in the Venetian that has a $40 or $45 prix fixe menu. Really really good.

The only buffet i had while there was in Paris. We were with kids and went for ones rated highly for kids.

What I heard talking to people around there was that the best buffets were actually off the strip.

A lot of people said Bellagio was excellent, didn't try it. So many restaurants there it's hard to want to go to a buffet.

Did try the steakhouse at Circus as pr recommendation on the Travel board. It did not disappoint.

Bellagio is the only buffet I have done in Vegas and if people are recommending that, I won't try another one again.

Reminds of a buffet on a Holland America cruise ship. They have all this delicious looking high end food, but it is all completely devoid of flavor. It's all setup for old fricks who can't have/take seasoning, so everything is just bland. What a waste of food.

Much better restaurants to get decent food, you don't need to be a fat frick anyway.
