Don't go to Atchafalaya. Screw that place.

Toast is my favorite, not sure if it's "the best", though. I don't eat breakfast out very often, and if I do it's usually just grabbing a bagel from Manhattan Jack's.

Brennan's
Stanley
Café Amelie

And why would anybody down vote Camelia Grill? It's a standard, great omelets, burgers, fries and chocolate freeze's.

This is what I wrote about Atchafalaya in my other thread.

"Listen I am not a food snob by any means of the imagination. I'm usually content with anything and am normally just happy to be out eating at a restaurant. But I went to Cafe Atchafalaya for brunch on Sunday and it absolutely sucked. First off, the band didn't even play jazz and they played only in the bar area for maybe 15 minutes while I was there.

Most importantly, the food sucked. My girlfriend had the Eggs Atchafalaya. It was bland, and worst of all the crab was full of shells. The manager took it back and took it off our bill. I had the Duck Hash and, honestly, it was unremarkable. It was pretty mediocre and did not have that much duck. The only thing good that stood out was the eggs were nicely poached. We had cornbread and boudin on the side. Boudin was ok. Cornbread was pretty pointless and bland as well. Blood Mary bar was weird as well. I felt like this was some Brooklyn-inspired establishment catering to quasi-hipster yelp reviewers."

I went to Elizabeth's a couple of years ago when I was in town. I thought it was really awesome.

Don't listen to that dude based on his one experience.

I've been to Atchafalaya a bunch and its definitely one of my faves.

Ruby is still good even though they have a bunch of them now. I like it.

The one in the CBD gets CRAZY packed. The one in the Marigny always has the shortest wait.

I like Toast as well.

They have brunch on Saturday and Sunday

Also Red Gravy on Camp Street has great omelets and is open from 8 to 2 daily.

Yeah I wouldn't even bother going to the downtown one. The wait times are outrageous (like...hours, plural, on the weekend sometimes).

If you want to just go to the one in the Marigny.
