a few comments....whoever dissed market basket in lake charles doesnt know much about boudin....boudin king is way to much rice, heberts in maurice has a good flavor but is different, a very moist boudin with a dominant black pepper flavor....tastes great but has a soft casing..a crisp casing is a must.....i love best stop but it has more liver flavor than others that have been mentioned.....

i always liked abes in lake charles. peetos in moss bluff is really good...has a unique flavor....chops in broussard is really good......

Abes was LC best boudin IMO, I was sad when it closed. Peetos has kickass food too

I wish I knew the name of the place but this little hole in the wall place in Sorrento makes great boudain. Also Kelly's meats in prairieville.

Best I've had is Legnon's in New Iberia. Fantastic texture and seasoned perfectly.

Picked up some from Don's in Scott today on way back from TX. Flavor good, but extra greasy. Almost great.

Honestly, from reading this board, I have to pick up some from Don's and/or Best Stop. I have heard too much about this boudin. It has to be great stuff. But I will say that Poche's is some of the best boudin i have ever tasted. If these others are better, i will spend a fortune to take some back with me to MS.

Legnon is a family friend, and by far my favorite. I was glad to see his name on here.

I'm partial to Veillion's here in Gonzales but I have to say that Don's is some GREAT boudin. Awesome stuff.

Bourgouis' Meat Market in Schreiver. You can also get the best beef jerkey there.

IMHO the Market Basket on Nelson Rd in Lake Charles has the best, especially the smoked boudin not to mention the sausage with green onion and the garlic sausage too!! If I could figure out how to get it trucked up here to DFW fresh, I could make them and me a whole pile of money. My friends that I have had try it love it and they are always asking me when I am going home again!!!!
