Well that was quick. I've been hanging around the FBD thread for a few years now and haven't received a maven card.

He caught me when I was drunk. I love everyone then. Plus you're the Abita fanboy. You can't be a maven.

I went to Abita's web site and found some places that sell it close by.

and their ICS was just decent

I think ICS is pretty solid. Good as most of the stouts (non imperial stouts) I have tasted from out of state.

For me their two best beers from their regular lineup are their brown and the ICS. 7th street wheat is also another of their regular lineup I enjoy but I can't get it in cans. It's good for a wheat beer imo. Hopitoulas is descent/ok but I tend to gravitate toward other local ipa's if they are available.

From the tap room, I really enjoy girl stout cookie. Breakfast brown is also good. Some of their one offs are hit and miss. Some better than others.

That's actually a great distinction. I had imperial stouts on my mind. ICS was as good as the stouts I've had so no complaints. And the girl stout cookie was pretty good.

I didn't try the breakfast brown but will when I'm in town again.

Damn man. Abita's website said my local Kroger carried their beer. I went there and no Abita. Does anyone know where I can buy Abita in the Dallas area?

I have a solution -- stop trying to buy Abita.

Seriously. You're in Dallas. There are better beers. Buy those. Unless you have a party or something that demands LA beer, there's no reason to buy Abita.

Maybe you're right. Just trying new things. I'm more pissed that they give misinformation on their website. It hurts their reputation.

What reputation?

Seriously, their beer is not that good. Go buy some Karbach, some St. Arnolds, whatever is local to you. It will be better.

just go to Dodies on lower Greenville where they boil their crawfish in plain water then sprinkle Tony's on top. I'm sure they have Abita.

Don't even get me started on the crawfish here. I take what I can get. Pappadeaux has been the best I've tasted in this area.
