Absolutely obsessed with avocados. I usually just make guacamole with garlic salt, cumin, lemon juice and sometimes a chopped tomato.

What's your favorite guac recipe?
What else do you do with avocados besides mash them or add them to salads and sandwiches?

Dash of sharp or smoked cheddar
diced onion, tomatoes, squeeze of lime
and McCormick guac seasoning, and chipotle tabasco as desired

I like to grill them and chop and add some roasted corn, jalapeno and tomato for a chunky guacamole.

definitely on salads and sandwiches. i also grill a turkey burger patty and some onions, put a little cheese on top and eat it with some avocado. quesadillas, tacos, burgers, etc.

as for guac, there are all types of ways. a good white person way is to mix a little salsa and lime with some mashed up avocado.

I use them instead of oil when I make a cilantro lime vinegrette. Great for a salad including corn, jicama, tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries, nuts, and spinach.

What you have except I would add red onion.

That's pretty much all they're good for, IMO. And I'm okay with that.

Did the egg thing earlier this week. It was ok, the texture was funny, and hot avocado isn't something I am especially used to.

Diced Spanish onion, diced and drained tomatoes, garlic cloves (depending upon how many avacados you use)crushed with Kosher salt, chopped cilantro, serrano peppers diced, roasted and diced poblano, cumin, black pepper, and fresh squeezed lime juice. Let it set and add Kosher salt to taste. For a twist take some on the side and add in a little sour cream or Mexican crema. Experiment with it, you'll love it ! Use wood utensils and cover with plastic wrap on top of the guac itself to keep out any air. Chill for a few hours before the last salting and always add a little lime juice to the top before storing.

I don't use cumin, I do use red onion and fresh jap peppers in my guacamole, along with some cilantro and lime juice. Tomatoes are optional for me.

Avocados cost so much for a fruit but are well worth it. They are one of the great things about living in the western hemisphere. When I was in chile last summer, we would buy a sack of avocados for 5000 peso\ ten dollars.
