Also...no one is giving up meat entirely for Lent. At least I'm not, and never have. I just eat fish/vegetables Ash Wednesday and every Friday during Lent like every other Catholic I know.

Yea, seafood is hardly a fast or sacrifice for Louisiana Catholics. I hope when any of us do eat it instead of "meat," we recognize that we are behaving like a community of Catholics, which is good, but we are hardly doing any real sacrifices for the good of our spirituality or our religion.*

*Unless you are an odd ball that hates seafood.
