I know not a whole lot about rum - is this a good list to start working from?

To drink it on the rocks, yes.

Zaya is a step down from the other 3.

Try Botran, harder to find, a little Less expensive and I like it a little more. I am told that it comes from the same distillery in Guatemala.

However , the best rum, you have likely not tried as it is not imported to US, it is rum Caney. Still made the original way and in the original equipment in Santiago de Cuba (Anejo Centuria).

Also not in the states Havana Club (SELECCIONES DE MAESTROS)...although I like Caney better.
