The wife and I are planning on visiting 6-8 places for apps and/or cocktails along the St Charles line. We've only been to a few of these places so we need help shaving the list down.

Ideally we'd like to keep walking within 2-3 blocks of St. Charles (at least in the Carrolton, Uptown, & Garden District areas) but exceptions can be made. Also please help me out by taking out places where this wouldnt work well or that would discourage this type of thing (can we go to Commanders for just one app and 2 drinks?).

The list below is [more or less] in order of Carrolton @ St Charles working its way back to Downtown. Let me know what I should keep, take off, or add. TIA

Dante's Kitchen
Brigsten's
Ciro's Cote Sud
Jamila's
Gautreau's
Il Posto Cafe
Pascal Manales
La Crepe Nanou
St. James Cheese Co
Kyoto
Upperline
Superior Seafood
The Columns
The Delachaise
Commander's Palace
Coquette
Avenue Pub
Blind Pelican
Irish House
Emeril's Delmonico
Courtyard Brewery
Mais Arepas
Peche
Herbsaint
Capedeville
Luke
SoBou
August
Cafe Adelaide
Grand Isle
Root

Barcadia
Fulton Alley

I'd rather do Magazine but riding the bus line just doesn't seem as romantic.

And too far of a walk from St. Charles to do a "crawl" of this sort. If we were just hitting up Lilette or La Petite, no big deal, but to stop by 8 restaurants I realized Magazine wasn't a great option.

How many days are ya'll doing to use tackle a list and idea like this?

It doesn't seem like that plan would work all that great for the nicer restaurants such as Gautreaus, Commanders, etc. If you caught some of those main sit down restaurants at the right times I could see it maybe working if they had a nice bar area though.

I would focus on the like of The Delachaise, St. James Cheese Co., Avenue Pub, The Columns, etc.
The Carrolton Market Restaurant I think has a bar at the kitchen that would probably be neat to grab a drink and apps.

Meh, not that far off the line.

The new Willie Mae's opened up just off St Charles.

6-8 in one night (which would include a couple of bars without food). Restaurants with bars would be ideal.

We would do this on a weeknight in hopes of lighter crowds and we would start early.

That^

Everything else mentioned would be more enjoyable as a multi course dinner

Might want to plan a stop at Touro for when she snaps and ankle on the sidewalks.

Do you streetcar? This list seems a little off base.

What time of day are you starting? And I assume it will begin in river bend

After a certain time of night the streetcar runs less frequently, take this into consideration.

Overall I think this is a great idea for a Friday or Saturday afternoon but I would stick with places within 1 block of the streetcar line, Oak/Ale, Cooters, Fat Harry's, Columns, Delechaise, Avenue, and one or two warehouse district spots.

Last, I know Magazine isn't that far of a walk, but its far enough where I could see you not making it back to the streetcar after a few spots.

Coquette for the Buffalo apples, phenomenal app. Can't go wrong with Adelaide with the Swizzle Stick Bar.

Dante's Kitchen - Escargot with marrow
Cote Sud - Mussels
Delechaise - Pomme Frites
Columns for a drink, because, well, you can't do a streetcar hop without going here.
Avenue Pub - Beer
Herbsaint - Gumbo w/ a small plate
Then wherever for dessert and night caps. Dessert isn't my thing, so no advice.

Just don't order anything too ambitious for their bartenders, like a gin & tonic.
