What patio have you been sitting at where the cigarette smoke just hangs in the air indefinitely?

There's availability along Nicholson both by 1010 and by Tin Roof, I think even that U-Haul lot in front of Tin Roof is for sale.

I said the same thing on page 4, now that I know at least one other person agrees wen need to create the "BR beer district"

Corporate Brew & Draft is smoke free. They also banned vaping.

You can't smoke cigarettes inside the Bulldog anymore. I have seen people vape in there.

I hate dealing with cigarette smoke, but I also feel smoking bans are a major infringement on the freedoms of smokers.

There's no such things as "freedoms of smokers". It's not a right.

Now I do think a ban infringes on an owner's rights and that's why I'm against it. You own a bar, you decide if to allow smoking and where. I think we're naturally moving to bars being smoke free without some nanny-state ban telling business owners how to run their businesses.

That being said, smoking inside bars doesn't bother me but I can understand those of whom it does. However, bitching about people smoking outside on patios is just silly.

Any one where the person at the next table is smoking. If you can smell it at all, it's not dissipating. Many a meal on local patios have been ruined by some jackass smoker at the next table.

I just want one patio in town that I don't have to deal with that shite. That's all I ask.

Is the new patio at CDB smoke free as well? Now that they have food multiple days of the week it is something I can visit more.

How does their food work over there now? It's been a while since I've been and they had only just added the sausages which were served fairly inconsistently at the time.

Well you can bring or order food in, which it has always been that way.
Tonight they have a food truck that comes in and cooks using that littler area, I think a couple of nights a week they do this now.
I've always ordered food but was in a few weeks ago and they had the food being cooked and for 10 bucks the pulled pork sandwich I had was very good.

I did not know that. I knew my buddies liked to smoke next door at the Cove, but I'd never seen anyone try to smoke in CBD. Heck, I hardly ever see anyone else at CBD period.

Cool. If they start doing a regular predictable rotation I might just go back to being a regular. Lately, we've just been eating before we go out and we've been spending more time at Port Royal to play pool. I'll have to add CBD back to the regular rotation.

I would like the downvoters of my post on page two to explain why they think it would not work? Seriously interested in any feedback. Thanks

Come check out The Pharmacy here in Nashville. Biergarten with burgers and sausage. That place has a line around the block every day.

I think your hurdle in BR would be location. Any place with a lot of on-site parking is going to be a shitty location. You need to find some place with plenty of street parking and neighbors who are cool with the idea.

ETA: Not shitty location as in geographic location, per se, but more along the lines of atmosphere.

I'm thinking a mature tree canopy type atmosphere, similar to Augustiner in Salsburg or something similar, though not near that large.

Plus with no decent public transportation everything is too far away...

People blame the concept in Baton Rouge rather than the product. But truth be told, there are just oodles of terrible attempts.

Pelican House is a great example. It has an awful atmosphere, inconsistent food (they have had four different iterations of the nachos), old kegs, it does not replace menu, awful service. I think a beer garden-type idea would be a great success. A good concept will succeed - the OM and K-Street prove that. However, a good concept with a terrible product - Table or Gouter - will not succeed.

A bunch of baws will line up at noon on a Wednesday to scoop up a four-pack of double-hopped Envie. There is plainly interest.

Further, I cannot think of a single place where I can watch a football game outside that has a decent environment. How is that so difficult?

I'm sure they exist. Galatorie's patio, Juban's courtyard, DiGuilio's in the outdoor seating area..

Of course, these are restaurants. A bar likely isn't going to alienate their after hours crowd by banning outdoor smoking on top of indoor smoking.
