It is a silly movie about a fictional chain restaurant and the employees that work there.

95% of the movie is filmed in what is typically a low end chain place and it is funny as all hell for those with a love for mindless humor. I think the Bennigans in Kenner, La was where it was filmed.

I have a weird sense of humor so I liked the flick quite a bit.

If you've worked in a restaurant, the movie is pretty spot on.

It was certainly filmed @ Bennigans in Kenner/Metairie right in front of Home Depot on Vets. My cousin somehow hung out with that cast the whole time they were filming. I had a chance to go meet them all but bitched out and never went.

Yes. I am interested here how many people have waited tables and done the following:

1) played the get someone to look at your package game.
2) rubbed their package and put it in the food

It's not really the specific things they did that are spot on, but more the attitude and tone of interaction. I've had many of the same conversations/arguments at the restaurant, and you do hang out with pretty much the same people every night.

And, there is always some type of game being played at a restaurant. It just changes a lot.

I agree. I got a few good laughs watching it. I bartended for a couple of years in college, mostly at a restaurant. It was a constant party every night and everyone was hooking up with each other. We never played any other those games, but practical jokes were the norm.

Yeah, we had a guy get fired at the restaurant I worked out for hanging his balls out his pants while working the expo line in the kitchen - he had his apron over it and would pick up the apron and flash people, he did it once as the manager walked in and he had to fire him.

I liked the movie, it was right on with typical stuff we did/dealt with.

All the stuff with the balls was pretty stupid, but the different types of customers were perfect. The redneck, the foreigners, the teenagers, the horny guys, and my favorite, the "beotch". I swear I have waited on that skank hundreds of times.

I could have never been a waiter at a restaurant as I am quite sure I would have tried to kill the redneck. That type seems to be about half of what was in Bennigans last time I ate there.

As far as the back of the house stuff goes, I would love to know of the crazy stuff that goes on in the kitchens and such, especially with the low end, ie. dishwasher/fry cook types.
Emeril's had tried at one time to make all their employees go through a drug screening process and I heard they couldn't get enough employees to apply after that.
I am guessing that the dump restaurants in around N.O. probably have some pretty crazy assed people working there.

One of the cooks at a restuarnat I worked at had a bullet fall out of his leg one day. Kitchen staff are made up of some crazy frickers for sure. Most of the cooks I know have at least been charged with possesion.
