The Burger King on West Esplanade was one of the very first restaurants to reopen after Katrina and only served whoppers, fries and Coke. One size. Only thing you could add was cheese and after a couple of months of eating MRE's that was a great treat and we all waited in line for an hour for it. Those few times I ate there after the storm were probably the last time I've eaten at BK.

The IHOP on I think Manhattan was the first on the Westbank to open and flapjacks never tasted so good. The McDonalds stayed closed for a long time after and were some of the last restaurants to reopen. Not sure why.

Paul just being an asspaul.

BK near me (shreveport, youree dr) just remodeled. Stopped by for breakfast a couple weeks ago and I was pleasently shocked how good it was. I only went there because I was short on time and the mcdonalds line had like ten cars in it. I will go back fir breakfast next time I eat fast food breakfast

I remember having my birthday party at BK, circa 1980, complete with the cake with the image of the king in the icing.
