Anyone know where to purchase any Cajun Brewing beer? Growler fill?
Regarding Parish's sour efforts, they're horrible. Milton Teagle Jr Jr is bad. Their Gose attempts at GRD were God awful. Tasted like salt water. I wonder if any brewer down here knows what a sour is supposed to taste like?
Maybe the problem is that it's too expensive to cellar hundreds of barrels for years in Louisiana heat.

Every person i've talked to disagrees with you 100% and says the latest rendition of MJJ is absolutely fantastic.
Maybe you just don't like sour beers.

Bayou Teche isn't my favorite, I'm not a fan of Belgian flavors, but to call their beer a gimmick is pretty ignorant.
Exactly.
I find their stuff is hit and miss, but the ones they do hit on, ie Loup Garu and the honey wheat beer in bourbon barrels, are really good.
As for the Ragin Cajun beer being gimmicky, maybe so, but it's something the guys did in teaming up with the UL-Lafayette marketing department to give some of their students a bit of experience on a real product. And it's actually been a hit on sales, just like Canebrake. The beer is something that both your typical BMC drinker and craft beer drinkers (probably not beer snobs) can all enjoy on a warm, sunny day.

Bayou Teche's Teche Hombre was an amazing beer. I haven't been able to find it in two years though (casually looking), so it must have been a limited release type deal.

Every beer I've tried from Bayou Teche is just terrible.
That Ragin Cajun brew is absolutely garbage. I have 4 left in the fridge if anyone wants it.
I couldn't even finish 1 whole beer.

The Bayou Teche 5-year Anniversary Persimmon Sour remains as the worst beer I have ever had.

I purchase about 3-4 4 packs a year, typically between April and July. By that time most of the stouts I prefer to ICS that are fall/winter seasonals have disappeared from shelves and you're left to choose between ICS and a bunch of shelfturds.
Soon, Ten Fidy will be a shelp turd, so there's always that...

I said, their sours suck.
Seriously tho. If ya'll think that's good, ya'll need to head to Calandro's and drop $25 on a 33cl of 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze. That's what it's supposed to taste like. That's a decent average quality sour to base your opinions upon.

You're a fricking idiot if you think a geuze and a gose are supposed to taste the same.

Jesus ya'll are some butthurt Parish fanboys. Andrew can make a decent hoppy beer, but sours are not his thing. It's ok to not be good at everything.

no we are laughing at you calling 3 Fontenin Oude Geuze an "average quality" sour

Why? Because you think it's shite, or that it's a whale? You're wrong on both counts.
I admit, its above average on the scale, but if you're gonna start trotting out sours and giving them to the public, it better taste better than old gym socks.

because drie fonteinen is probably a top 3 sour producer in the world and you called it "average quality".
