They opened up on the 3rd

will be interesting to see if they can compete with Parish or they'll have to make gimmick beer like Bayou Teche and sell it out of state.

How is Bayou Teche "gimmick" beer?

Bayou Teche kills it on beer, They just don't have a ghost or commotion so people think they are garbage.

Their barrel aged stout is incredible as well as the Belgian IPA and Mead.

Agreed. I'd probably consider them a top 5 brewery in the state, but I enjoy a lot those Belgian-influenced beers they do. And they certainly aren't trying to jump on the bandwagon of any popular style. I truly believe they brew beers they've always liked to drink themselves. The only gimmicky thing they do is the new Ragin Cajuns ale, but I believe at least of couple them attended school there.

Funny he mentions Parish, who I think is best in the state, but Canebrake is up there with some of the most gimmicky beers in the state. The King Cake beer is in a class of its own, though.

Bayou Teche has produced the best beers that aren't in the hoppy category. (Grand reserve included)

40 arpents milk stout, maybe Tin Roof coffee porter, then what?

I'd take the Old Rail Cow Catcher milk stout over Korova or even the Imperial Korova.

This year's version was fantastic. Big improvement from last year. I thought it was the best LA-brewed sour I've had.

Still is a good beer, I've had it at the tap room outside of GR Day though

ICS is a safe beer for me, I won't seek it out because they have others I consider better. I feel the same with a lot of Bayou Teche beers though.

I've enjoyed Korova at Red White and Brew and at the brewery. I have no bought a bottle yet though

I purchase about 3-4 4 packs a year, typically between April and July. By that time most of the stouts I prefer to ICS that are fall/winter seasonals have disappeared from shelves and you're left to choose between ICS and a bunch of shelfturds. ICS is solid and local -- I'll take that every time.

Bayou Teche isn't my favorite, I'm not a fan of Belgian flavors, but to call their beer a gimmick is pretty ignorant.

31 Stout isn't bad by any means but if you asked me I would take the ICS over it. It may be because one is a bomber and one is a can but I've never done a side by side.

We do have two other beers that are lined up to come soon after. It's a red ale which is yet to be named, and a brown ale which is also yet to be named."

Sound very prepared
