Going to tsunami tonight for my birthday dinner, any recommendations on what I should drink that will pair well with sushi.. Never really thought about what would go well with it

depends on what kind of sauce and other condiments they use to mask the poor quality of the raw fish

Beat me to it. It is a no brainer as they are both from Japan.

I think I've always had an Andygator there if I wasn't having Sake.
ETA but the beers from Hitachino Nest are really great with Sushi. I like the XH and the Red Rice ale a lot.

Beer.
Funny thing too, the American patrons at my restaurant drank the Japanese beer...Sapporo, Kirin, Asahi, while my Japanese clients drank Miller Lite.

I like the Japanese beer - I wouldn't go buy a 6er myself or anything, but when I see it on the menu I go for it - and it's only on the menu at Jap places

Try the unfiltered cold sake. It's white and milky, good stuff.

Sake is kind of like oysters if you're not eating the rolls and going for the sashimi. You want something clean and refreshing that won't overwhelm the fish itself. Sake is fine as well as a vodka based drink with little added (maybe a yuzu cucumber or ginger martini). As far as beer something light and clean as well would be the best choice. I would second the notion of a nigori sake (unfiltered) as they are easier to drink and delicious.

and wouldn't the Rubbing alcohol cook the sushi in a ceviche kind of way?

Not really
Japanese cuisine is more diverse than you think
And Beer is probably a better pairing for sushi

Yes you just seem like a big fluffy guy.
It could be worse, you could be a bloodied up zombie or something.
