Anyone try it? Your thoughts? Here in Massachusetts we get a limited variety of southern craft beers. I was able to locate some but it's a 20 mile drive each way. Is it worth the trip? Was thinking of getting some to enjoy with the jambalaya we having tonight for the big game.

It is one of the worst beers I've ever had. No lie. I made it through one and a half and poured the rest of the six pack out.

It's decent, that's really it. Worth a 20 mile trip? Eh, that depends on how bad you want it at your party. If I lived in Mass and we're feeling nostalgic I may consider making that drive.

Still prefer a Lazy Mag over the Abita

It's definitely not a world beater, but this is just silly. Must have gotten a bad batch.

And picking up abita amber.

No, it's really not. It may have been a bad batch, but I'm not lying. I'm no beer maven by any means (I'm a wine and liquor person), so I don't necessarily try all that many beers, but I'm rarely able to finish a six pack if I have one. I poured this out.

Don't really get a lot of the pecan flavor in it from what i remember, it did have a nice nose but was way to sweet for me. Not worth a 20 min drive, hell just drive to Tree House instead

Try and find it in a Pick 6

I remember I didn't like it much the one time I had it.

Go get it. Just make this a party of epic proportions. Get some Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan while youre there and perhaps some Lagunitas All Day IPA as your drinker. Get a bottle of Buffalo Trace bourbon and a nice cigar to wash down your jambalaya (are you putting Louisiana sausage in that?) and to wash down the sweet taste of victory tonight after we put it on Bama.

No Lazy Magnolia in these parts, but I may make the drive and get some Amber, Bad mother shucker and possibly a single of Pecan just to try.

Is it worse than the Bayou Tech 5yr Anniversary Persimmon Sour? Because that tasted like dog piss that had been sitting in the Acadiana August sun.

Last year when we were down in Louisiana I tried several different Bayou Teche beers/ Can't say I was a big fan of any of them.

Decent beer and I suppose if I was living that far from LA, I'd make the trip, get a few LA beers, and make up a big pot of Jambalaya.

They only had these and Purple Haze. Was hoping to pick up some Amber . Oh well. Snagged a few Helles, Kolsch, Pilsners and some Dogfish 120 minute IPA as well. The ole lady will be starting the jambalaya soon.

It's a rather bitter beer. I tried it and didn't care for it much.
