Have any of you baws had this?
quote:

Old Fashioned Pale Ale is inspired by the classic cocktail. It is brewed with malted barley and rye, and then aged in small batch bourbon barrels for eight weeks. After aging we add all the elements of an Old Fashioned - fresh orange peel, maraschino cherries and aromatic bitters to the brew. The result is a smooth, barrel aged beer with all the flavors of a classic Old Fashioned.

Haven't come across that yet.

Considering I enjoy old fashioneds and am reasonably well disposed to most Abita bottlings I should be the easy target market for this brew.

Somehow though, the thought makes me gag.

Sounds intriguing. Also sounds like it could be shitty (its Abita)

Will try if I see it though

the Restoration Pale Ale is one of their better brews. Would try this one.

A beer flavored like an old fashioned?
Whatever happened to just making beer?

This is more of an indictment than anything else.

I used to drink Restoration but with the proliferation of APAs and IPAs around LA now.. no way.

I've had it and enjoyed it. It did taste similar to an old fashioned but I didn't get any of the hop I would expect from a pale ale. It was a little on the sweeter side but not too bad. Found it at Whole Foods and I'd drink it again.

I had it a month or so ago. Interesting idea and I finished it, but too much bitters (or orange, can't remember) for my taste.

They need to make that Mayhawk beer again, Belgian pale ale brewed with Mayhaw berries.

Well, wouldn't anyone's mint julep beer be horrible? I don't see how that's a good idea for anyone to try.
