Interesting list.

Two of Bells on it- hopslam and two hearted.

How many are currently in your icebox?

I've got three- both Bells and the brunch weasel.

I didn't realize y'all were more uptight than the poli board.

My bad.

If those two made the list I likely won't be looking anyway.

Just give the top 10

What was #1? I only saw it up to #2. It jumped from #9 to #6 and there was no #3. What did I do wrong?

Didn't notice that at first but you are correct.

It seems to be screwed up somehow.

From this list I've had:

#47 Other Half - Galaxy IPA
#42 Grimm - Lambo Doors
#37 Tree House - Julius
#28 Bells - Two Hearted Ale
#10 Hill Farmstead - Ann
#5 Alchemist - Heady Topper

I don't have a great handle on the entire list, but a few thoughts on the ones I've had:

Heady Topper isn't even the best beer by Alchemist, that award goes to Focal Banger. And it's not even close.

The Grimm and Other Half beers are fantastic and worthy of this list.

Julius is ranked way too low.

No Trillium at all on the list almost makes the entire list worthless.

I noticed that as well.

I think it has to do with people opting not to flip through 50+ pics on a webpage with ads interrupting ever other slide. No one wants that shite.

I looked at it. Unlike most of these slideshows, this one flipped through really fast. However, there were only 35 slides, with one beer on each slide - so they couldn't list 50 beers.

Seems weighted way too heavily to the Belgian beers. But of the list I've had

Surly Darkness (have one in the closet now)
Bells Two Hearted
The Abyss
Dark Lord (got two tickets to Dark Lord Day so I'll have more)
KBS
Goose Island Bourbon County

I just don't understand Hopslam. I've probably had half a dozen different batches and have never come away saying "wow, this is really an elite beer". It's good, not great IMO.

I think it's a little overrated. I've had it a few times and I was always disappointed. Not bad, but not worth the acclaim it receives.

I hate to nitpick between Focal Banger, Crusher, and/or Heady Topper.

Can't say I blame anyone for placing Heady Topper so high on these lists. It is the quintessential NE-style IPA/DIPA.

I'm not trying to say Heady Topper isn't a solid beer, it is.

But I can name at least five other IPAs that are better and still fit the mold of a NE-style IPA off the top of my head (pun intended).

These lists are so subjective, but I'll play along. Admittedly, I don't drink much outside of what is brewed in the U.S. Anyway, I've had:

- OH Galaxy IPA
- Grimm Lambo Door
- Tree House Julius
- FFF Zombie Dust
- Bell's Two Hearted
- Surly Darkness -- 2015, 2016 and 2017
- Bell's Hopslam -- This year's was a little boozy
- Deschutes The Abyss -- ChitownBadger, Beermiscuous has had an abundance of 2016 in their coolers over the last month or so.
- FFF Dark Lord -- Had tickets last year, couldn't get them this year, but co-worker said I could buy a bottle off her.
- Founders KBS
- Hill Farmstead Ann
- Goose Island BCBS
- Alchemist Heady Topper

Currently in my fridge, I have Heady Topper, Zombie Dust, The Abyss (2016 Reserve), BCBS (2017 series), and Two Hearted.

Going to go to the Vermont Brewers Festival in late July. Went last year and it was a really good time.

Normally we try to go once in the winter and once in the summer for the festival, but the winter trip just wasn't in the cards this year with our wedding coming up next month. It's too bad too - Vermont is a really beautiful area when it's covered in snow.
