New Orleans checks in at # 16 on the slide show presentation, however for me, this would not have been my top choice for The Big Easy.

I've been to five on this list:

- Bern's (Tampa)
- Pappas Bros (Houston)
- Kayne Prime (Nashville)
- Dickie Brennan's (New Orleans)
- Perini Ranch (Buffalo Gap, TX)

and out of these five, I would rank them:

1. Bern's
2. Pappas Bros.
3. Kayne Prime
4. Dickie Brennan's
5. Perini Ranch (not exactly like the others)

The best steak I have ever had? Del Frisco's at the Houston Galleria. Bone-in N.Y. Strip.

Honorable mention, Doris Metropolitan, New Orleans (my top choice for best steakhouse under Mitch's direction), Prime at the Bellagio (Las Vegas) and I really enjoyed my steak (and meal) both times at The Steakhouse inside Circus Circus, Las Vegas. And say what you will about Ruth's Chris, the Baton Rouge location does an excellent job with their steaks.

My most overpriced steak that I have ever eaten? Morton's Steakhouse, Atlanta.

Complete List

What about you? How many have you been to on this list?

I have been 3 or 4 times. It's a good steak, but I just expected more.

Dickie Brennan's wouldn't make the top 5 in NOLA

Maybe 15 to 20 years ago ... but not today.

Dickie's has a solid reputation (and well deserved), longevity and puts out a very good product - so I can see why many tourists and locals go there.

Dickie Brennan's gets a legitimate LOL for being on this list from any local.

Yep and here is my This is a tough thing to do a top25 on as there are a ton of great Steak places around the country. Plaza III Steakhouse as an example in Kansas City.

I'm absolutely shocked that Peter Luger is on the list. Shocked, I tell you. It's like the people who put these click bait slideshows together don't even bother researching anything. They just recycle old pieces.

For NOLA, my all time tops is still the ribeye at Delmonico. It is something special.

I ate at Chophouse for the first time this weekend and really liked the overall experience.

All time best steak, the $350 Australian Wagyu Ribeye at Prime in Bellagio that my business partner and I split after closing a huge deal. Fully aware that I was exhausted and half drunk but that steak really was incredible.

Big fan of Nick & Sam's in Dallas and STQ in Houston.

For NOLA, the top steakhouses are:

Doris Metropolitan
La Boca
Chophouse
Mr. John's
Desi Vega's
Crescent City Steakhouse
Ruth's Chris
Dickie B's
Galatoire's 33
Charlie's

1. Bern's

1a) Bern's with Drew as your waiter
1b) Bern's with any other waiter

If you ever go back, ask for Drew to be your server. I used to live down the street and we would eat there a good bit. Had Drew all but twice - and the experience is completely different with him.

He's the longest tenured waiter there and is as nice as can be. There are a lot of things he can do that no other waiter can and if you mention he's waited on you before to the rest of the staff they just sigh and apologize.

Amongst other things he gets you special appetizers (including these bomb arse cheese crackers they make for Mrs. Berns), packs another full steak in a your to go box, and also is the only waiter there that would pack a legit doggie bag with bones for my dogs.

And by asking for him there's a certain level of treatment you'll get from the maitre d.

Dickie's is okay, but there are so many better options to choose from in New Orleans.

I'm a big fan of Doris and La Boca.

Charlie's has to be on my list for nostalgic reasons. It is at the bottom.

I edited the list to add Galatoire's 33. I cannot gainsay the quality of the steak, but something got lost when they opened this restaurant. It just doesn't do it for me like the others at the premium price point.

I'd take a steak at NOLA before Charlies. But I gotcha.

Dude. This. Had clients in Macau who knew I hadn't been home in months, and they were really great and treated me to the Mortons there before we went gambling. I was underwhelmed. And I hadn't had a steak in probably 5 months.
