The closure will be in effect from midnight Friday until 10 a.m. Monday.

Do they think it will be magically better on Monday or something?

Going to be plenty of pissed off people this weekend when they head to their camps. I am guessing that they would set up at the major launches.

Bunch of idiots. Who gives a shite if the water is high over there.... It's not like we are gonna crash a 200000 ton barge into a major LA bridge.

I have friends that live on the diversion and noticed the water levels coming up and FAST. They knew it would close before they announced it

Affects the Amite, Tickfaw, Blood, parts of Diversion Canal and Blind River. Just talked to my dad whose at their camp on the Amite. He said the water is high but not nearly high enough to close the river. Be interesting to see if Ascension goes along with this.

well shite, I guess these sout winds are doing a number. It usually takes some high arse water for them to close the amite or diversion
