Just sounds like a loophole

My LM took the best players from a team whose owner went AWOL and forced lopsided trades to himself and a couple of his buddies, bypassing the 2 day review/veto period. Gave himself Calvin Johnson for Alshon Jeffrey. He then dropped and added one of his other players over and over again until it bumped the trades off the front page of the league homepage. I called him out on it and he offered to give me a player in exchange for my silence. I didn't take it and he eventually reversed the trades.

Is this a money league? If so, I would not play with him next year. I would also want my money back, but you said he reversed the trades, so I guess that's good enough for this season.

Is he running this league from a prison?

It's because he's on IR.

This is what I think it is but I can't find anything on the site. Have you seen it written before?

dropped TDFL for this mess?

I stand corrected on that. I just went and tried to pick up Cobb just to test it out and he's on waivers. It could just be your league settings that all IR players don't go on waivers. Try to pick up Julio/Cobb etc and see if they are on waivers (obviously don't go all the way through with it).

All players are on waivers from noon on Sunday - Tuesday in this league. The only way that I see to test it is for someone to drop a player who is on IR on Wednesday AM.
