I'm pondering a lot of different things. PPR league, of course.

I don't see McCoy or Charles falling past 1 and 2

Gotta figure Charles, McCoy and AP are going 1-3. You have quite a few options that all make sense. A top tier RB in Forte, the top WR, the top QB, or the top TE. All 4 of those options are doable

I am a big fan of going RB in round 1 no matter what. I'll probably hold off on picking a QB until the 3rd or 4th round.

TE is an intriguing possibility. Assuming Graham stays healthy, I could draft him over Calvin Johnson. Our league allows TE's to be in the flex spot, so I can draft another TE in round 5 or so, and essentially treat Graham like a WR

Assuming McCoy, Charles, and AP are all gone; I'd have to with CJ I think. Just not as high on any other back at that spot if those top 3 are gone. Outside of CJ only other person I would contemplate would be Jimmy I think. You take CJ at 4 and you should still be able to get somebody like Giovani Bernard on the turn, and he makes a solid #1 this year IMO.

I don't like them spending a high pick on Hill

Gio is their guy. They had to get another back in there to complement him though. You can always draft Hill somewhere around rounds 11-12 as Gio's handcuff as well....Won't really know what they're planning to do until training camp, so that will be one thing I'll keep an eye on heading into my draft. Because I do really like Gio.

Mccoy stock is down a little with sproles in the passing game now. Plus i cant see him having anothre 300 carry season

Peterson is a safe early pick. Jamaal Charles as well. Both will be gone.

Id target Calvin Johnson or Matt Forte, maybe Eddie Lacy

Yea i think i go CJ or Forte.

No Qb is worth that much over another QB to be selected so high. An elite RB or the WR is the pick.

Love Graham but i don't take him that high. Not as high on Lacy as the rest of the world is but could definitely see the argument for him with 4/5 pick.

Eddie Lacy
Can you sell me on this guy? Ranked 5th overall among RB's and I just can't see how. I would personally draft M. Lynch way before I thought about Lacy. Why do people seem to like Lacy so much heading into this year?

Forte
Who is his backup now that Michael Bush is gone? I'm shaky on Forte as well, mainly because of age. But M. Bush was a big reason I tended to stay away from Forte the past couple seasons as well.

Graham + Gronk = Championship

no other TE can produce what these two will
in a 12 man 1st/3rd, in a 10 man 1st/4th
quote:

1 1.09 Jimmy Graham TE NO
2 3.04 Julius Thomas TE DEN
3 3.08 Rob Gronkowski TE NE

Julius is not a focal point of the offense like JG and RG are...he will never put up their numbers

the difference between the next 7 is at best 2 points/week (historically speaking, end of season TE totals)...but all 70-100 points/season under what JG or RG produce...Tight-end mediocrity is DEEP
quote:

4 5.08 Vernon Davis TE SF - same old acceptable mediocrity
5 5.10 Jordan Cameron TE CLE - will be relied upon, but system change and qb change
6 6.12 Jason Witten TE DAL - consistent medium
7 7.04 Jordan Reed TE WAS - will be used, but not focused on
8 7.12 Greg Olsen TE CAR - will produce just based on opportunity
9 8.09 Dennis Pitta TE BAL - healthy with Kubiak(owen daniels), Balt will use him
10 9.04 Kyle Rudolph TE MIN - Norv turner uses the TE (JCameron)

then you have the next group, that could easily all be in the top 3-10

quote:

11 10.04 Zach Ertz TE PHI - not seeing it, but they say they will use 2 TE sets, put up 36-469-4td as a rook
12 11.03 Eric Ebron TE DET - could be, but they paid Pet so can't see them benching him, but he could break out
13 11.09 Ladarius Green TE SD - huge upside if they give him the TE1 position
14 12.08 Martellus Bennett TE CHI - meh, no like, but the middle should be wide open
15 13.02 Charles Clay TE MIA - I like him, proved he can be the guy..great steal late
16 13.10 Antonio Gates TE SD - happy trails
17 13.11 Heath Miller TE PIT - was 4th best TE in 2012, injured pretty much all 2013, he's cheap

Why?
i would still go with this plan for the most part basically a best player available skewed toward RB plan minus the few rb that I have question marks about.
i would think a 1st rd should look like 8 rbs, 1 qb, 1 wr, 1 te, and one other.

So non RB in 1st round to me would be Payton, Graham, CJ,
then the other as Brees/Rodgers or which ever is your favorite in the tier 1b of the WR.
