well let's not do a total reset. i love the continuity of this league.
but shaking things up sounds fun.
we could consider doing a reshuffle this year if we wanted to make it fun.
pick X keepers. say 2 or 3.
the rest go into a keeper pool. we do a redraft of JUST the keeper players. no extra picks. with a computerizes draft order.
then we draft from the leftovers with the previously allotted picks.
so.
KEEPER SELECTION done this month
KEEPER DRAFT
SECONDARY DRAFT closer to the season.
the fun is that there are more top level players changing hands every year. and these are the guys most likely to leap in or out of the top 20.

I just don't see how we can play another year with the idea that we are gonna blow things up after this year. We either need to make some changes this year or keep it the same. Blowing things up next year means that all the teams that went for it last year have nothing to play for this year. Blowing it up this year means that all the teams that sold out last year will have done it for nothing. Regardless of what we decide, half the teams in the league are going to disagree with the decision.
If we plan on keeping this league going we need to make a decision now that gives us a better chance of doing that.
It's certainly not in my best interest to start a redraft this year, but I honestly think that this league would benefit from being converted to a yearly redraft.

So....list of names here. Who is TOTALLY out for a redraft this year and who is in?
In
PCT
Matt
Gyno
Toula
Rondo
MWG
Out
Karma
Also, if we do a redraft, I think we use last year's results to determine draft order this year.

no way
if we're starting over, we start over

Well answer the 1st question...in or out?
Posted on 7/18/16 at 4:13 pm to PortCityTiger24
in if we start completely over.
Posted on 7/18/16 at 4:17 pm to PortCityTiger24
In for redraft.
In to try and compromise on implementing rule changes to bridge end of last year to future state of league.
Don't think it's a good idea to play next year "as is" and it be the finale. Only makes it a 2-3 team race and rest of us won't have the normal means to improve rosters.

this is a total redraft? like nobody keeps anything? i'm out if that's the case.
just a pointless re-setting. invalidates all the work and planning we've done to this point. makes the last years pointless.
the league has been going on forever why would we blow up everyone's investment in it?
the single best thing about the league is the continuity. a yearly re-draft? that takes out all the strategy. then it just becomes just like anything else. whoever gets the computer lottery picks wins.
in for a bridged change to next season.
and port, i think we need a better vote than just re-draft or not re-draft. why our first vote is blowing it up after ten years is beyond me.

So if we vote to do a redraft each year, you are out...final answer?
Posted on 7/18/16 at 4:51 pm to PortCityTiger24
why is this the choice? i need to know more about what we're voting.
this is like a TDBBL brexit.
all triggered by a few potential rule changes.

It's not THE choice but it looks like people are going to drop one way or the other.
I'm trying to see who would remain IF we did a full redraft (not saying we are even doing that).

no one's dropping out besides Gyne?
are we blowing up the league to save one person?
i like the league. it's been fun. it's been competitive. it's the best league i've ever played in.
why would we start completely over without a plan in place?

Maybe...we have talked about making changes for the last couple of years now.

I'm dropping out
But a redraft has my ear, or at least a change of how the league is structured would also peak my interest

this isn't a change. this is fundamental blow up.
i'm down for change.
not down for starting over. this league has had continuity and it's what keeps it interesting. this started as a shake-up. not a blow up.

Now is the time for everyone to throw out some good suggestions.
