Is Meredith a flash in the pan if we expect Jeffery to step it up?

People are suggesting spending a ton of FAAB for Meredith. Does this make sense if we think Jeffery's production has nowhere to go but up? Can the Bears sustain 2 WR's? How did Marshall and Jeffery fare when they were together? I didn't pay much attention to the Bears at that time.

Marshall and Jeffrey were both studs for a couple years in Chi. Different coach, RB, QB (if Hoyer), etc

I think Jeffery is more valuable with Cutler back, whenever that may be. His targets, particularly deep balls have been way down with Hoyer.

Trying to decide if I should try for Meredith but I don't think it's worth it in my situation. I own AB, Jeffery, Steve Smith and Tyrell as WRs and have Miller as one of my TE's. Owning 3 Bears offensive weapons seems ineffective. At the same time I like having value so I'm torn.

Hoyer has 1200 yards passing in 3 games, bears are a team that will have to throw, your WR aren't that good outside AB

Seems like a no brainer

What do you think he's worth Gyno? Talking $100 budget. I'm down to $82 right now

12 team standard. Biggest adds so far have been:

Enunwa $21
Kerley $15
CAP $15
Tyrell $12

I've been sitting on my #1 waiver priority for a while now. I'm considering using it. I don't know if I'm just getting antsy or what. My team does have a weakness at starting wr's, and I'm ever nervous about rb depth, even though I should be good there.

I would still prefer Royal to Meredith.

I wouldn't spend more than 5. I don't think he will be a player you can count on.

He's stepped right in in whites spot and has played 80/85 possible snaps

White/Meredith has seen 56 targets in that offense

Royal and Jeffery are at 31 each

Hoyer at 300+ and 2 TDs+ every game

There is no reason not to take a chance

I just convinced myself to take a shot on him. If Jeffery happens to miss a game then Meredith will be the guy to own. I'm gunning for him.

I had White, picked up Royal last week when dropped White. Going to drop Royal to try and get Meredith now.

quote:

Kevin White went down, and Alshon Jeffery still did not get any love. Meredith out-targeted Jeffery 12-to-6 and turned his looks into nine catches for 130 yards and a nice double-move touchdown. He did lose a costly fumble late in the game, but it looks like Meredith has taken up right where White left off. White averaged nine targets a game over the first four weeks, and that kind of workload would give Meredith at worst WR3 value. He needs to be added in all formats.
Recommendation: Should be owned in all leagues
