I receive Jordy, early 7th round 2014 pick; I give Torrey, late 6th round 2014 pick. Torrey is a late round keeper, so I'd be forfeiting that for a remaining 2013 rental.

Roster after trade:
Romo
Calvin
VJax
Jordy
Lynch
Morris
Jimmy
Crosby
9ers

What's your keeper options without Torrey? The picks are pretty much a wash.

Id probably do this regardless because your team looks good enough to make a run in the playoffs, especially if you have Rodgers back throwing to Nelson.

Jordy would have to be kept in the 3rd towards a cap, and I probably wouldn't have room for him. I'm not 100% sure I'd keep Torrey though, either.

It's pretty much a who would rather the rest of the year type thing.

Boiled down this way, Jordy hands down.

He may not be top 5 again until Rodgers comes back, but that will be right during the playoffs. Until then Jordy is still going to be top 15 at worst IMO.

So you drop a few spots for an upgrade... seems like a no brainer

Do the deal for Jordy then. Rodgers should be back for fantasy playoffs.

I dont think Torrey's that great of a keeper anyway.

If Wallace makes Jordy irrelevant the next few weeks, I could lose my first round bye.

I don't see how Jordy becomes irrelevant. He still caught 4 for 67 all from Seneca. And Seneca missed him on at least 2 other plays. McCarthy is still going to throw the ball.

I still see Jordy as a top 15 for now and regains his top 5 status with Rodgers in FF playoff time.

If for some reason, GB brings Flynn in, 3 of Flynn's 10 career TDs have gone to Jordy.

It's not like Torrey Smith is doing so hot himself... and that's with an established quarterback. Got to look at the bigger picture having Nelson in the playoff weeks with Aaron Rodgers. For the compensation, it's worth the risk. You do realize your team still looks to be in great shape even if Nelson doesn't pan out for the next few weeks right?

If it all boils down to who is the better WR to have ROS, then definitely do the deal.

Actually, even if you were going to keep whichever player next year, I would do it. Jordy > Torrey and 7 > 6 (I was a math major in college )

How long did he give you to respond and did he tell you he was looking for other offers?

He never submitted through Yahoo, and no.

Dick move then. He should at least let you know that he is looking elsewhere so you know there's a time clock on his offer.

Amos can you do me a favor and weigh in on the possible trade moves I am debating? You've actually given me good advice in the past and it's a tricky situation due to trade deadline dates and byes.

With Rodgers jordy would be the number 2 receiver. Take into consideration that desean, dez, and aj all have bye weeks remaining. Without Rodgers, who knows?
