I don't understand the math behind auction value calculators and would like to manually determine auction values for my fantasy baseball league. Any advice would be appreciated.

Uhh if you don't understand how to do it then let the calculator do it for you.

Is the league ok with this? You may stir up some shite if they do not know.

Why would I stir up shite by working math problems in my free time?

You can take your calculators and your best guesses and throw that crap out the window. I use the ESPN auction values as a guide but I know the actual bidding in the league is going to be somewhat screwy.

Take the calculators, put in the stats and # of teams etc.. Then just use that as a guide as too how much you are going to bid on the players you like the most.

Any thing that isn't a default and is done personally by a commish will piss off someone. If it ends up working out for you in the long run, it'll piss of more than one person.

ETA - We had an issue where cliques were vetoing trades if they thought a team would get better (Duh, that's the point of trades). So I proposed that me and the other commish are final say on all trades. We both have to think its veto-able for it to be a veto. A lot of people complained saying we had too much power, etc...and low and behold, we had the most trades in a single season and not ONE was vetoed.

I'm not the commish. I'm simply trying to prepare for my auction draft by mathematically determining the dollar value that each player is worth because I don't trust ESPN's values. This isn't an online draft. This is an in-person auction draft.
