There is about as much humor as there is in breaking bad. Parts that will make you chuckle but not over the top. The cast has been really good, particularly Odenkirk. I don't want to oversell it because just like breaking bad there are small details that don't seem as realistic, but that is any show. I have 0 complaints.

What exactly are the scoring cats in this league? Is it a 6X6 or 5X5? Is it OBP and SLG or just OPS. And are we actually scoring IP? The rules on the site would indicate it's OBP and SLG and that IP are a category.

All three are a cat

Rs, RBIs, Net SB, OBP, HRs and Slug x IP, Whip, ERA, QS, Holds+Saves and K/9

The addition of innings pitched is a cap-tip to one of the most increasingly appreciated skills of a pitcher during the fantasy baseball era: generating outs. Remember, innings pitched is a direct calculation of outs recorded by a pitcher, innings pitched times three equaling his number of outs recorded. A pitcher has but two goals when he's on the mound: record outs and prevent runs.

Why pitchers haven't received more credit historically for their innings pitched in fantasy baseball is puzzling, but as the real game evolves, pitching staffs become more specialized and efficiency of outs recorded further drives managerial strategy, individual pitchers' innings totals will greater reflect their contributions. A quarter-century ago, in 1988, 37 pitchers totaled 215 innings or more, and 20 of them had WHIPs higher than 1.20. Last season, 12 pitchers worked at least 215 innings, and only Clayton Richard (1.23) had a WHIP higher than 1.20.

I was admittedly a non-participant in the league negotiations. I was fairly confidant that all of the folks I knew from other leagues would handle this properly. I have no problem with any of the cats but IP. What a useless counting stat. How the frick did that sneak in? Who championed it and who supported?

I am guessing the 5 person committee that was put in charge thought it was a good idea. It's pretty standard for 6x6 leagues.

I appreciate the ability of an SP to rack up IP IRL, but in fantasy it turns into just another counting stat that lends itself to streaming (which I hate).

If I'm losing all the real pitching stats I guess I'll just stream a bunch of SPs near the end to get that 1 pitching cat.

Edit: And look, I understand that die has been cast and I'll deal with it...just venting.

I brought this up after the draft. I didn't realize it either.

You could certainly stream to try to win IP and QS, but I would think you would probably lose ERA, WHIP, and K/9.

My mind is officially blown that you are just now realizing this.

Its a fricking cat on the scoreboard for fricks sake.

It was debated for several days after the draft.

It was in the proposed rules thread before anything was in stone.

It was listed under "projected stats" on the player pool if you know what you're doing.
