That's not surprising as they are separate categories. I never once said they reflect each other. They are not repetitive with each other, they are repetitive and overlapping to the fact that they can be combined for 1 category. It's not necessary
If saves and hold were separate categories, you would probably see a half and half split too
Doesnt mean it doesnt make sense to combine em, ya know?

I just really dont get what you mean by overlapping.
The formulas to determine those are quite different.
I really am trying to have an open mind about this discussion, but I'm just not understanding.

I like those numbers in a year I don't expect to compete.

It's nothing to do with OBP vs SLG.
You have 2 categories that can be scored with 1 category, all in the name of having 6 categories. It's like we broke up a cat (OPS) that works perfectly fine just to force 6 cats
Id rather see batting average or something like that as the 6th stat and OBP/SLG become OPS.
Or 5x5 works perfectly fine.

I wanted something different on this board, which is why I pushed for 6x6. I did a good bit of research on the topic, and the 12 categories we use are pretty widely accepted as the ones to use. I'm all for thinking outside the box though as well.
Is the league less fun because OBP and SLG are split up? I don't feel like it is. Would it be MORE fun if OPS and AVG were a cat? I don't really think it would.

Any interest in that proposal I sent to ya a few weeks back now that Archie has secured a spot in the big leagues?

It's not a deal breaker or anything. I'll get used to it, just seems weird to me, maybe since its new

Don't recall what you wanted.

I re-sent it

@jaysonst: Today's @MikeAndMike trivia - Adrian Gonzalez has hit 20+ HR in 8 of the last 9 seasons. Name the only 3 players who have hit 20+ in all 9!
I got em
Don't cheat

Hmmmm... without cheating
Ortiz
Miggy
Pujols (I think he got 20+ even in a hurt season in Anaheim...)

I would've said Pujols but I happened to be looking at his stats the other day
Other two are correct

Yeah, just went and looked... Ortiz has hit 20+ in 13 straight seasons.
Pujols had only 17 two seasons ago... I thought he had still made it to 20.
Now I'll have to think about the 3rd player. If retired players count, then probably Adam Dunn. Was thinking maybe Nelson Cruz but he hasn't played that long.

Adrian Beltre had a nice run. I know he hit 19 last season, but up until that point I am sure there was some sort of streak.
Alfonso Soriano was hitting HR's for years before he retired. And I don't remember him ever being seriously injured, so he might be one not many think of. I cant remember when he retired though (2013 or 2014). If it was 2013, he wouldn't count.
Possibly Adam Dunn. I know he had some stinker seasons, but it might just be the batting average that is making me think that.

I was just looking at him, he had 12 seasons in a row, but didn't play nearly enough in 2014 to keep it going.
LaRoche only had one season out of the last 10 or so where he didn't hit 20.
Cano didn't hit enough in Seattle last year.
Pretty sure Holliday is the third guy.

I don't think cano even hit 20 last year. Could be Holliday though.

Albert
Miggy
Holliday
The answer is Holliday. I am positive of it. I could have sworn Pujols still hit 20+ in 2013. I guess the other guy is Papi as shown above.
Beltre had 18 last year. Cano had 14.
