The "fantasy" is pretending to be a real general manager/coach of a franchise. It involves drafting, trading and managing a roster.

Picking any players you want...only limited by an arbitrary salary cap, is just pure gambling.

I personally think adults ought to be able to choose to gamble of they want to.....but I also object to gambling being labeled as a "fantasy" game

Fan Dule is the Latin partner-site. Sanchez won me 3 different games last week.

Nah, I didn't but if be said it, that's cool.

Over 20
Years ago, I joined an awesome fantasy football league with IDPs where we actually needed a fantasy "location" and "nickname" for our team. It really was fun.

I have no opposition to gambling. Just call it that

I think the only people who don't think it's gambling are the CEO's of those companies.

The only entities that have a complaint against DFS sites are the same ones that had a complaint against online poker sites. The Casinos. The Casino lobby has basically bought politicians and your grey matter. frick them and you sheep.

I don't understand the moral difference. Anti gambling laws are so antiquated, the argument shouldn't be that daily fantasy should be underneath gambling restrictions, it's that there should be less gambling restrictions

Oh, I have absolutely zero problem with gambling. If people want to do it, so be it and I am all for allowing that freedom

I'm just saying that true "fantasy" sports is about more than gambling and I hate to see the two used synonymously

there are always deals to be found each week though. It does get harder as the year goes on though especially on FanDuel.

but I mean in season long fantasy how many times have you had what appeared to be a slam dunk play of the week but it didn't work out that way? If you are playing for money in season long leagues its still gambling.

Have you ever played a salary cap season long league like CDMSports used to offer in Football, Baseball, Basketball?

The same general group of players finish well year after year after year. It's a skill game with luck involved. Just like poker.

It's not playing the lottery, it's not playing roulette, it's not even craps which is normally your best odds in a casino.

Some people have just been brainwashed by casino lobby and politicians paying them back.

Do you know the anti-online US player poker was a result of a tack-on to a Port Security Bill? And the sponsor's reasoning? Gambling is immoral. Yet he accepted $50k for his campaign from casinos. Go figure.

I started in a league in 1993 (which stated in 1989) that was a true fantasy league with IDPs and a salary cap. Also required a "fantasy" place and nickname. Game of strategy and cool as hell. It was really pretty close to "you're a GM of a pro football franchise"

I hate that every time I mention I play fantasy football people assume I'm talking about fan dual or draft kings. I have to clarify. No, real fantasy football.
