Forsett is unlikely to get back to you at 23OA in a 12-team league.

its 12. youre right its a gamble. ive done mocks where he doesnt last but more often he does. really just depends on how many teams go WR/WR with the first two picks. someone always reaches for brees in the second, so that helps.

like anything else in fantasy, its a gamble. but at the 2nd pick you have to just take your pick and hope someone fricks up.

But it also makes me wonder if that is Cooks ceiling or can he top Colston's best years?

I think Coooks has a higher ceiling because he will play outside much more than Colston ever did, but he's going to have to figure out how to beat press and come down with contested catches at a higher rate.

I've played devil's advocate a bit in this thread, but if it was me at #2 OA in a 12-team PPR, hands down I take Le'Veon. Done, wouldn't think twice.

I'd see what rolls back to me at #23. If Forsett is there, I would very likely take him as RB2 and a WR at #26 (but I think he gone for you).

My reasoning is that the question shouldn't be last year RB1 Bell vs. RB8 Forsett. It should be Bell vs. likely RB available at #23. Bell vs. RB12 is 10+ ppg difference. Even with Jordy and Benjamin down, this year's WRs are stocked with great value.

if Cooks is somebody that you are possibly targeting, there is a good chance somebody else is too.

are other players in your league big Saints fans?

you make some good points. so if the guy throws me a curve ball and takes bell #1. do you take brown over AP? i dont see AP as a great PPR back, even when healthy. hes never put up big receptions. I have a feeling lacy will finish above him and charles.

Cooks is much more versatile, and he has a higher ceiling. The fact that he can be used basically every where helps.

Here is my top 4 12-team PPR:
1. Bell
2. AP
3. Lacy
4. AB

If you prefer Lacy over AP, I have no issues. I don't trust any other of the RBs enough to use a Top4 pick on them. But those 3 I would pick over AB. Same reasoning I used before. Who is going to come back to you at #23? It makes the decision tougher because Bell's floor+ceiling is much higher than AP/Lacy. Even in All Day's 2000+ yard season, he scored over 1ppg less than Bell last year, but he does have a good OC and supporting cast.

But a Saints WR or now including Jimmy has never received more than 149 targets in a given season under Payton/Brees.

So now Cooks is #1 and he's expected to receive more targets than any Saints receiving threat has ever historically had under Payton/Brees? More than a Top15 WR for 7 years. More than the Top1/2 TE for 4 years?

I think the expectations are too high for Cooks right now in FF. He'd have to match Jimmy and Colston's best seasons to hit the ceiling some of you are talking about.

in 2013 he was the #10 ppr RB. forte has actually been the most consistent ppr guy that no one talks about. AP was a beast in 2012. so 3 years later after one year of being hurt, another without even playing and not getting younger, he should be in contention for the #1 back?

i didnt mean he was a horrible player. Hes probably around 5 or 6 for me. I was saying hes not the #1 or 2 guy anymore.

eta: also coming from an offseason where he wanted to be traded, then says he doesnt feel the same burst as before. guy obviously scream confidence.

If you feel all of that then take Lacy #2. Jamaal has a high ceiling - 25ppg 2 years ago, but it's a huge outlier. His next best season is 17.7 five years ago. Lacy hasn't beaten 17.0 but I think he will this year and his floor is rock solid.

Forsett went #21OA in our snake. He's betting on Forsett being there at #23OA if he goes AB.

But then again, you picked AB #4 and Forsett #21.

thats pretty damn close. 2 dumb picks is all it wouldve taken to get to 23 then. ive got a few days to mull it over.

i mean going back further into AP you could say 2012 was his outlier. in 2011 he finished as the 15th ranked ppr RB. hes got the name recognition and destroys standard leagues. PPR is a different story.

I can see that I guess.

its really all about preference which is what it should be in my opinion.

by the time you draft you should have a pretty good idea of what you want to do. I mean if you are thinking about a player more than the other... then pick him.

All Day has had 2 20+ppg PPR seasons and 2 more 18+ppg PPR seasons.

Jamaal has had 1 25+ppg PPR season. Every other season has been 17.7ppg or below.

I know you think you know what you know, but you don't really know what you think to know.

Yeah, he tore his ACL after 12 games averaging 17.3ppg PPR (not included in the 4 seasons I listed above). Then came back in 2012 and averaged 21.6ppg PPR with 2000+ yards rushing, 40 receptions and 13 TDs.
